When I go to add the note to the verse by selecting John 1:1 from the menu it selecting both the verse and the  heading "I. Prologue" and the sub-heading "Chapter 1" . There does not seem to be any way to remove that highlighting from the headings. Just to be sure this was not just an anomaly on John 1:1 I went to Matt 1:1 and tried to add a note to verse 1 just to see what would happen.

I right clicked on verse 1 and when the window opened I selected Matthew 1:1 and then  "Add note to Study Notes on John". Just as it did in John it highlighted the entire verse but it also highlighted "I. Infancy Narrative"
and "Chapter 1" as well.

When I add a note to a verse I want the note indicator to go on the verse I am adding the note for and not on the book section heading. Note that I am doing this inside the NABRE. I haven't tried it in other Bible versions to see if it is doing the same thing there.

I just did an experiment at the suggestion of another user. I went into the NRSVCE and did the same things as in the NABRE. It worked. When I highlighted John 1:1 and selected Add Note to Study Notes on John it did NOT highlight the Chapter and Book headings as it does in the NABRE. Apparently the bug is in that Bible and not a bug of Verbum 6.

IT would appear that this is Bug in the NABRE Bible.

I'm pretty sure the way the NABRE works is by design and the behavior in the NRSVCE is actually incorrect at this location, by our standards. If you look at the way the NRSVCE works at Jn 1:19, you'll see that it is more like what you see in the NABRE. (I'll notify our Content Production department about this.)

I understand that this seems odd, but basically the issue is that we only have one "start" to a verse (the location in the book where we put the verse milestone). Headings inserted in a Bible have to go with one verse or another, and it makes more sense to associate them with the following verse rather than the preceding verse. Consequently, we have to have the verse start at the heading rather than at the verse number indicator. (Turning off the milestones entirely has other adverse side-effects.)

I see what you mean on Jn 1 19. It just seems odd to me to include headings in a verse selection when adding a note to a file. But I get what you are saying. I will just have to take your word for it concerning the "other adverse side-effects" as I am, of course, unfamiliar with how these things work.

I appreciate your response to my query on this.
