SUGGESTION: Add numbering to output slides for projectionists.

It would help greatly if there was a consecutive numbering for final on-air projecting in Grid Preview and Timeline. (We are in a 30 day preview of Proclaim right now.)

Each week we make a "cheat sheet" to guide the a/v projectionist. It tells him what to do when. (There may be something to display for the children's sermon one week and nothing the next, etc) In our current software we give him/her the "slide numbers" to keep it flowing smoothly. Also, when I preach I make a note in the border of my manuscript for the projectionist to advance the slide.

Most other programs have numbers assigned to each "slide". Not in Proclaim. It would be very helpful. Suggest they be applied to both the Grid Preview and the Timeline.

Thanks for the feedback David. In the future we plan to support non slide order of service items. An example would be cues (e.g. display for children's sermon) for the person in the booth. Hopefully these items will serve this need and be more resilient to numbering changes as slides are added/removed. Does this sound like it would meet your needs?

I also would like to see some sort of "slide numbering" because during rehearsal I have to make notes regarding changes I need to make before the live service and I don't have time to make them "on the fly" when noted. Another thing that would help the projectionist is if the slide "Notes" were visible during the on-air presentation. I would like to see them in the Gird view in the pane under the "blank slide","OSB", "No text" hot slides, But they have to be big enough to read.

Obviously, if there already is some way to see those notes,I haven't figured out how. Searching help mentions that notes are available when using the remote control on an tablet or phone, but nothing for the projectionist.

I think I understand what you are saying and it could help. I still think some sort of dynamic numbering would help in all kinds of situations. By that I "think" I mean the "place holders" that the slides are in have a number, and as new ones are made or some removed, they move in the sequence (as they do already) and take on the new number. (The analogy I think of is my Adobe Lightroom program where the thumbnails are numbered) Sorry, I know I am not a programmer, I will leave the tecky stuff alone now.[:)]

The non slide items would be handy for cueing, but not for making notes for what needs to be changed later. Most of the time all I need to do is reference the slide number and when I view that slide I know what I need to change. I use my own shorthand like "22.5" means I need to add a slide after #22, d40 means duplicate #40, x53-55 means delete 53-55. The only thing I need to remember is to work backwards in the list or the numbers may change. Comparable notes may be "blank between b & c song #1, "dup b song #2", "add c after last c song #3".

If you have a secondary display connected to the computer running Proclaim you can configure it to be a Notes output. Another option is for the projectionist to use the Proclaim Remote on their phone or tablet running in Notes view and functioning as a "confidence monitor". It will stay in sync with the current slide, even though the desktop computer is being used to control the presentation.

At our church I have to handle all technology, which means the sound board, the slide show, the cd, dvd, cassette players, mics and mic levels, recordings and sometimes the lights. I also imagine some other churches have the same set-up. Adding another device that needs my attention to do the job doesn't seem like a good solution. I'm sure you're aware that PowerPoint has the ability display notes on every slide right in the Presenter view. I can even use these notes to remind me of sound levels, track numbers, etc. required for other devices. As well as a myriad of other notes. As far as Proclaim is concerned, I create the skeleton containing all the announcement slides and basic stuff, the Worship pastor puts in the songs, the senior pastor does his sermon stuff. Then I go back thru adding the fluff,making sure I know what the other two want. If it is cumbersome to see any notes they might have added, I have to rely on written or verbal communication, a solution that has a high rate of failure, but yet it is the sound guy who takes the blame.

As we get more familiar with Proclaim and my worship pastor gets more creative, I am missing the ability to view notes on slides even more. As we prepared the presentation for this Sunday, I found a need to add notes for the projectionist on individual slides within a song and found that I can only add notes at the song level.
