March is coming, any info about doing March Madness this year? If so, will the format be the same as previous years?
What cheating?
interesting suggestions all - but they reflect the interests of the 500 or 1000 of us that post on the forums regularly and buy everything offered by faithlife at every sale (eg as much as we are interested in or can afford). For the other 500k to 1m logos users they may be interested in 50% off spurgeon because they weren't here the last time he won, or carson, or wright, or whomever. In the end, FL will do what FL needs to to make the most money, whether it means the 500-1000 of us that post regularly are happy with it or not - and thats ok. I'm on a spending freeze anyway as long as the payment plan rules stand the way they are, or until my plan is paid off... So the next two MM don't really matter a hill of beans to me.
Spot on. And Faithlife is much more interested, and should be, in attracting the new potential customers. That is business.
I think it was 2014, there was ballot stuffing that they had to go through and recount.
The blog went up a bit early by mistake. We are working to get the site up as quickly as possible.
[Y] show's you we Faithlife User know everything soon as it's in the Net [;)]
The authors are up...no Carson...no Wright or Moo....Longman is a nice addition.... nice to mix things up.
I still see it under construction
Check back now. [;)]
Thanks. Great to have a bit of a different assortment of authors.
no Wright
I think you might need to look a bit closer. [;)]

I see it now.
I hope they offer mobile ed
I thought it humours Carson was left out and already 45% off.
Thanks for hearing some of our suggestions Logos.
What about an overall contest picking an perfect bracket, win Logos for Life? I mean if Warren Buffet can give away a Billion Dollars for that...
I'm so excited to have Mobile Ed as a major part of March Madness!
Me too! [Y]

More people need to vote for MacArthur. we could get something good from him.
It is better to vote for authors with Mobile Ed courses

Agree with your agreed [:D][Y][B]
But since they won't reveal which resources will be on sale, that really doesn't help much. You can only vote and hope.

Not strictly true -
"For the first time ever, we’re including Logos Mobile Education courses for authors in the competition. That means you have the chance to save up to 70% on seminary-level video courses from Darrell Bock, Bryan Chapell, Ben Witherington, Elyse Fitzpatrick, Craig Evans, Tremper Longman, Michael Heiser, or John Walton. Remember, the longer they stay in the competition, the more you can save."
I'm very pleased to see a much wider ecumenical representation of candidates than in past years. This year Chesterton, St. Augustine, Fitzmyer, St. [John] Chrysostom, Hahn, and Kreeft all made it in from outside of Protestantism.
I'd say that this is a clear sign of the growing diversity of Faithlife's customers, as well as an indication that at least a few Verbum-targeted authors are selling pretty well, and across ecclesial lines.
Personally, I don't see MobileEd as a good value for money at all. I even returned the $40 John course by Witherington. There are way too many seminary classes and lectures that are available for free to make it worth it to me to buy one in Logos.
Stick with primary resources and vote for those guys is my thought.
Honestly, don't get too excited! We got too many voting for Spurgeon and Calvin, quite frankly, I'm not sure we'll see any mobile ed courses at a deep discount!
This and other dumb patterns just make me wonder if this whole MM thing is fixed - another year of mad disappointment!
DAL, to say that March Madness is fixed is to calumniate Faithlife; even to indicate (as you have in the sentence I quoted) that the moral character of the decision makers at Faithlife is so poor as to potentially fix a contest like this is calumny. In charity, please apologize to Faithlife.
Vote Peter Kreeft!
Sometimes the disappointment with March Madness is you may not like the books they offer and not get the books you expect from that author.
[Y] Yes!

You're funny SineNomine - talk about reading too much into a post. The only thing the "makes me wonder" statement indicates is my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Is not my fault certain things (intentionally or not) "come across" that way from FL. One strong case (and one example among many) is the voting we had to do so our favorite top resources on our "wish list" could go on sale on a super Black Friday sale we had about 3 Black Fridays ago. Guess which ones received the most popular vote -- The Bible Knowledge Commentary and other low level resources. And everyone, not just me, was wondering who ruined the sale by having the Bible Knowledge Commentary and other low level resources at the top if their "wish list." Quite a few people wondered the same thing (if certain contests are fixed) and that's just their opinion and nobody has to apologize for it. Besides, you need to remember that FL is first and foremost a business; and as such they will and have employed certain marketing strategies, made certain statements and made plenty of "business" decisions that have not come across very honest and make people question their integrity. Does that mean they are dishonest, no, but remember is a business is not a ministry that lives by the Book. So no apology needed
Out of charity for you - sincerely,
DAL 😁
Vote Peter Kreeft! Yes!

Ditto for a change! 👍
I hope Runge winns with the hope they offer his mobile ed course
If a March Madness author has a Mobile Ed course, the course will be offered at the March Madness discount. I saw a public email about this today, so I don't think I'm leaking any exclusive information.
That is an exciting development.
If is not out of prepub yet or just made it out of prepub it won't be included. They have to "honor" the "value" of the prepub program - whatever that means 🙄
That changes the game
Yep, it does; but as an incentive there's a DA Carson collection on sale right now for 45% off. Sorry, no link, I'm on my phone right now and tough to provide links. If nothing catches my eye, I'll get yhe Carson collection as my MM2016 price
DAL
It doesn't seem to show the votes of each author

well, you certainly DID link it, it looks like! [;)]

Thanks for the link! 👍
I am hooked.
In what world does Chambers beat Runge especially when we can get his just released Mobile Ed course at a huge discount!
It is not guaranteed that his course will be offered. Logos doesn't necessarily offer every resource by each author. It would be nice, though, if they do offer his course at a discount. One thing to take into consideration for any winning author is that if the discount price would be cheaper than the pre-pub price, the work may be excluded, especially if it was a recent pre-pub.
In what world does Chambers beat Runge ...
I suspect in one where he has better name recognition.

Most of chambers stuff could be gotten in a base package for cheap
Nope, is people making the same mistake all over again or some "glitch" with this MM contest to put it lightly 😬🙄🤔
I know I'm probably one of the few still using Internet Explorer, but on that browser, the brackets only show one person per matchup (e.g. Bauckman, but not Wright, Blomberg, but not Moltmann). You can still click on a bracket and vote as normal, but the central hub page only shows half the participants.

I didn't intend to imply that it's a good reason, just that when people are uncertain we tend to go with the name we've heard of.
