ISSUES: A few interface issues with v4 (not crashes)
- A few things I've found so far
- Seems a little sluggish at times (esp when Indexer running)
- Font dialog (in Notes) takes a long time to appear the first time it is opened in a session.
- The font smoothing in popups is not as smooth as the smoothing in the wider interface.
- Has search syntax changed? “Exact(<term>)” no longer present
- “Equivalent Resources” not available for English Bibles
- Any way to “reuse” resource windows i.e. the Graph Bible Search Results window i.e. “target” window?
- Search window always appears in the same place – the second column in my layout – want it to remember the last position I used.
And a few more
- Some of the “translation” word wheel popups are very slow to appear e.g. create a BWS for “paradidwmi” and then mouseover the “deliver, delivered ..." and after waiting for nearly a minute, still no popup.
- When scaling the text size in “Program Settings”, the initial column size with control labels does not change.
- PASSAGE GUIDE: Mouse wheel does not work when the current mouseovered item is highlighted (e.g. in commentary section)
- EXEGETICAL GUIDE: Collapsing individual word entries under “Word by Word” does not collapse the space formerly occupied by the word entries.
- “Program Scaling” is not retained between sessions.
Thanks

Many members of the team are reading all the posts, and our Q&A team is casing up bugs and issues for the developers. We may not respond to everything, but we're noting it all.
Thanks for the feedback!

And I personally want to say thank you for being so visible in this forum. It means a great deal to me that you as president (AKA 2nd big cheese, there's always One higher [:)]) care enough about the quality and value of your product to be so involved in hearing our opinions.

As I was thinking about the post after reading another I realized that I really needed to say thank you to the whole Logos team. You all equally deserve it. I've noticed quite a few team members posting things during the Holiday weekend and after business hours. Thank you for your commitment to making the best Bible software available. You've ditched IE and started from the bottom up, quite a significant task. And you've created a great program to boot. :-)

I also have to thank Bob and his team; they've done a great, and selfless job reacting to our issues!
Thank you brothers and sisters of the Logos team!

- A few things I've found so far ...
Hi Richard ~
1. Thank you for providing so much great feedback.
2-4 and (2nd) 1. As we continue to work on the program during the Beta period, we will be improving performance and appearance.
5. Search syntax will be somewhat different in Logos 4, and there are still parts of it to be implemented, including exact match syntax. We will be providing search syntax Help in future updates, and you may find useful information in this forum. (You can now search the forum.)
6. "Equivalent resources" are different than Parallel Resources. They offer a different view or annotation of exactly the same text, such as the various "NA27" resources. You'll find that an "equivalent' for the "KJV" is the "Complete Word Study Bible: King James Version."
7. This is available only in resource panels in Beta 1 ("Send hyperlinks here" on the panel menu). Report targets may be added later.
8. I may need you to clarify this one. If you've saved and loaded a layout with the Search panel situated as the second column, then you change its position, you would need to resave that layout again (just as with workspaces in LDLS 3).
And a few more... replies coming...

Hi Folks ...
That's great - just checking - as long as it's all being taken account of.It's just that there;s so much new stuff appearing packed into a single column, there's a risk of stuff getting lost.
I know you guys have got a lot flyin' atcha at the moment, and yes it's great that you're making regular appearances on the forum, and I'm loving trying this new software out!
Melissa - if I save a layout with a search, it does reappear in the same place when layout is recalled. However, if the Search tab is removed, and a new search is initiated, the Search tab reappears in the default position, not in the last saved position. This is the same for resources.
What would be great is if L4 remembered the last saved position for each resource and report type etc and opened it up at that position when a new instance is launched. This would be useful for resources which are not left open, either because it would increase loading time, or for some other reason.
Thanks

I think I understand better now. The search panel opens in same place when layout is loaded, then you close it and later start a new search and it opens as a tab added to one of the other panels--is that correct? At that point, you can drag the Search tab (or resource tab) off the other panel until you see the blue hotspot to drop it into its previous location as the 2nd 'column'.
Logos 4 does remember the last place you were in when you close a resource. Try opening a Bible to John, then close it. The next time you open that Bible, it will open to John. The same thing happens with a guide, although this behavior may change, as many users prefer to be able to type a new passage in a blank guide, rather than trying to type while it's generating a previous one or waiting until it finishes.

Yes, I want to join the guys before me and express thanks and excitement. Being from Europe I have always been surprised since the V4 Beta came to us, that you guys are there all the time. When you get some rest? Thank you for your excellent work.
