That was an absolute killer feature for me, and I was also recommending Logos because of that to friends with Kindles.
Why is that no longer possible? Will it be possible again in the future?
RIP Send to Kindle:
You are receiving this email because you have used the send-to-Kindle feature in Logos 6. Due to a combination of technical, legal, and permission issues outside our control, we retiring this feature effective today. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you.
Books already sent to Kindle will not be affected by this change. You will be able to continue to enjoy them on your Kindle.
Yes, i got that Email too... but why?
I just tried: It still works right now, so I am sending aaall my books over right now... Just thought id tell you, maybe you consider doing the same, Tony...
By the way O'Reilly closed their's down a while back.

The likely suspect is Big A
With O`Reilly at least you can download the .mobi and send it yourself, but with Logos you can´t even download the file, so you literally have no possibility to get the books to your kindle... Or am I wrong?
A big river in WA state...
See discussion at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/124007/810428.aspx for a way to do this
This is ridiculous, how could they get rid of this feature. I bought a kindle just for this feature!!
We demand it back!!
Agree! Really disappointed...

The demand needs to be made of Amazon rather than of Faithlife.
Not being able to send books to my Kindle will severely limit my future Logos purchases. I far prefer to read books that are mostly prose on my Kindle rather than my laptop or phone and it's nice to have them linked when I'm at my computer doing research. I've purchased a number of books through Logos just because this feature was available.
Is there another solution? I've never used Vyrso because the initial marketing for it had very inadequate explanations of how I would use it, on what devices and how it is related to my Logos content so I've never followed it since - plus I was happy with what I had.
This is a serious issue for me. I have a lot of non-Logos books on my Kindle. Am I going to have to buy yet another portable hardware platform to read Logos books as I would on my Kindle?
I would pay a small subscription fee or per book fee to use the Kindle.
Update:
Ok, I looked at Mark Barnes page on how to get books to Kindle. It looks doable thought I haven't tried it yet. It's still unfortunate.

Due to a combination of technical, legal, and permission issues outside our control, we're going to retire the send-to-Kindle feature on 3/31. You'll be able to use the service through the end of the month. After that point, it will no longer work. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. Update: Books already sent to Kindle will not be affected by this change. You will be able to continue to enjoy them on your Kindle after 3/31.

I was pretty sure this was going to happen at some point. The "A" company probably doesn't want to use its infrastructure to facilitate its competitors. And publishers would rather you purchase the same work on multiple platforms to increase their influx of ducats. So, if you want to read a title in "A" format, you need to buy it from "A". Otherwise, you can manually transfer pertinent sections manually using the extant functionality.
I take issue with Faithlife for just suddenly dropping the feature with no notice whatsoever. By the time I received the email, the feature no longer worked on my Logos program.
They could have given us some notice, even if only a few days. That would have given me time to at least export as many as possible. When I sold a large number of my print books last year in order to transfer over to Logos, one big reason I was willing to do so was knowing that I could export the books to Kindle. That was really key for me. Now, without warning, it's gone.
Yes, I know that Amazon was probably a big factor in this decision (or the publishers, or both).
But shame on Faithlife for not giving its customers any heads up, or any opportunity at all to export books before this feature disappeared altogether.
Now this is unfortunate. This was THE ONE feature why I was even building up my library. If Logos will not come up with an alternative to load books from the library on my Kindle (or on any other ebook reader for that matter), there won't be any other purchases from me for this closed system. Again, money wasted and lost, just because of a proprietory and closed system.

Not everyone is active in this forum. The email notification just arrived a couple of hours ago.
LOL whining! As if it was FL's fault! If amazon decided to cancel, then there's nothing FL can do about it. Stop your silly threats about not buying from faithlife or taking issue with the company for not announcing anything. Nobody has to announce anything here! Besides there was already a thread discussing this, why play dumb and whine and pretend nothing's been said before. If you don't want to buy from FL any more then fine, nobody's going to miss your busines, trust me! Byeeeeee! 😂😁😆
LOL whining!
And your point is? You even seem to be gloating on other people's misery. If FL is to be considered as a serious software company with thoughtful engineers and tactful product managers at hand, they would do everything in their capability to provide an alternative (let's keep in mind, that this was a basic feature of L6).
Seriously, they have known about this problem internally since quite a while. Why not then plan the retirement of this specific functionality of sending the documents over the Amazon cloud while internally prepare for an alternative solution (download Mobi files, use your own mail account for sending out the documents, or what have you not) and instead of announcing a removal of the functionality in the next software release, roll out the new feature by then.
For me, THIS would have been a good showcase of proficient case- / incident management...
After getting the "it's ending now" email yesterday, the following this evening:
We’re sorry we didn’t notify you in advance about the send-to-Kindle feature retiring. We’re going to keep the feature and the service live for two more weeks. When the software update 6.11 ships on Monday, April 18, the feature will be disabled.
You may continue to use it for the next two weeks, and books you send to Kindle will continue to work even after April 18. Due to the high volume of requests, it may take longer than normal for your books to process.
Again, we’re sorry for the late notice—and that we have to retire a feature many of you really enjoy.
