Un-Downloading Resources?
How do I un-download a resource (bible) in the Faithlife Bible App. I don't really use it a lot and am limited on space on my iPad and it's one of the largest apps being used - not even my Logos Software Bible App is that big, and I use that all the time!

In general, you tap the "i" button and select "Remove"
But some resource are required to be downloaded in this app. Which one(s) are you trying to remove?

Oh duh. Thanks. I knew that I was just lost! Thanks for the reminder.

If one has many resources, is there a sort option to see what's downloaded first? Or a way to list what is local, to make removing resources easier?

I did actually remove some of my resources… But it keeps on downloading itself afterwards. It does so automatically

Which app are you using and on which platform?

I also fight with an automatic download every time I open the app on my iPod Touch 5th Gen. Each time it is the LEB that starts downloading and I can't find a way to stop this. It seems I am working for the app and not the other way around.
while I would like an email notification of your response, I must have fat-fingered my address when I signed up. I see it is incorrect where my account is shown and I do kn how to fix that either.

... email fixed. I found I could change it accessing the account through the browser inst of the app.
I still want to stop the automatic downloads on my device.

Jim,
I removed your email address as this should never be posted in in a public forum and can get picked by spam bots.
The LEB resource is bundled with the app and if removed, the app will download it again. The reason is we want our Bible apps to have at least one Bible available when the device is offline. The bundled default used to be the ASV but now it's the LEB.

Thank you for editing out the email. I really don't need more spam. It had occurred to me that but at the time I wasn't sure how I would get a notification of the response.
Regarding the daily download, it makes sense that a Bible app would have at least one Bible translation on it. I bought it so that I could access the Bible through my device off line. However, this automatic download is essentialy putting a 2nd translation on my device, which I with building frustration remove each time I find it and then proceed to use the app with my trusted NASB.
There is a user selectable place in the app to choose a preferred Bible, why not make that the default download.

Jim, I like your idea. I'd bet they want specific Bibles to run their tools off of. Maybe.
In any event, to thin down a Faithlife ios memory-load, the best way is to choose the app with the least forced books, relative to any tools you need.
Plus, there is the ability to make books there, but not. Plus be read, but not. This is a recent feature available for all the Faithlife apps:
"If myth is ideology in narrative form, then scholarship is myth with footnotes." B. Lincolm 1999.

Probably because not all Bibles play well with the Faithlife Study Bible ... at least one Bible that works well with the FSB is probably required for the app to function well.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I appreciate all the possible reasons but everyday I remove the LEB and continue with only the NASB as I planned when I decided to purchase this app. If there is a feature lacking, I'm not missing it but rather growing frustrated with an app that insists having its way with each new day or restart. The app should work for the user not the other way around.
There are benefits to having other translations too (like audio Bible) but that still should be up to the user.
Eventually I hope to resolve this here but if necessary I'll delete the app and find one that is more user friendly.

The LEB is bundled with the Faithlife Study Bible app and is intended to always be downloaded locally; this is by design. Every other Bible and/or resource is optional but the LEB is part of this particular app and is intended to be downloaded locally. Every time you delete the LEB the app will download it again when it can since the Faithlife Study Bible app assumes you mistakenly removed it. The LEB is part of the app and bundled with the app - this is by design.
The way to stop the daily download (as you say) of the LEB is simply to stop removing it. Is there a reason you keep deleting it (say, lack of space on your device) or is it simply that you only want a single Bible available in the app because you only trust the NASB?
If so, just make the NASB the default Bible and use the app normally and everything Bible related should open the NASB. When performing a Bible Search, select the NASB for your search.
Might this suggestion satisfy your immediate needs?0 -
The FSB, I can understand but it happens with every resource from faithlife, photos, videos and, since I am a spanish user, Fotos from Faithlife too. That is really anoying. Is there a way to stop this other than deleting the app?
