As an interim measure I settled on 'Highway at Night' for the back ground for the service next Sunday.
As a holding measure I copied all the series into my presentation and then moved all the blanks into the 'post service loop' and started to duplicate and drag up as required.
I went to reuse items and selected a Lord's Prayer slide...
The results were...
Everything (appeared) to return to normal when I added the next service item.
