Deity of Jesus by Jesse R. Kellems
Jesse Randolph Kellems (1892-1980) was a minister, evangelist, legislator, and founding minister of Westwood Hills Christian Church in Los Angeles.
Kellem was educated in the University of Oregon, Eugene Divinity School (now Northwest Christian [University]), Temple University School of Theology, and the University of Edinburgh. For twenty-five years an evangelist, Kellems conducted some 300 campaigns in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, and South Africa. He preached more than 14,000 sermons to approximately
5,375,ooo people. His evangelistic campaigns lasted from three to fifteen weeks with nearly 100,000 converts.
Kellems authored seven books, including a respected volume on Campbellian theology, Alexander Campbell and the Disciples (1930), which was remarkable in its reconciling of the basic principles of the Stone-Campbell Movement with the generally accepted scholarship of its time. Beyond his service to the church, Kellems spent six years as a representative to the state legislature of California.
