Incorporating Bible Verses Into Sermon for Proclaim
Hello.
Is it possible to pull in verses from the On-Screen Bible directly into a sermon presentation? Currently, the sermon is broken up into several different presentations. Anytime, some Scripture needs to be added to the sermon, it is added as a new presentation, followed by yet another presentation with the next block of sermon points. This results in a sermon broken up into 7 or 8 presentations based on how much Scripture is being incorporated. If it is possible to incorporate Scripture directly into a sermon, we could have a single presentation for the entire sermon.
Besides having the sermon broken up into parts makes it rather difficult to add a Countdown Timer for the sermon (if that were possible). More on that in another query.
I found this article https://blog.logos.com/2016/09/5-reasons-pastors-will-love-sermon-editor-logos-7/ about adding Scripture references directly into sermons using Sermon Editor. It states:
"Let’s talk about inserting verse text. You’ve just got to see this. Any time you place a Scripture reference on its own line and hit enter, Sermon Editor copies that verse from your preferred Bible into your sermon."
Will that work in Proclaim as well? Or is Sermon Editor a different piece of software, and the functionality is not present in Proclaim?

First, welcome to the Proclaim community! You've got a few questions here, I'd like to shed some light on them one at a time:

Absolutely! You can add an On-Screen Bible service item from the "Add Item" menu or by pressing Ctrl + Shift + O. Drag and drop anywhere in your presentation, add as many references you'd like from your preferred Bible, and choose styling. Here's a short article on the OSB.
I should also note that the OSB is available as a quick screen (info on quick screens/how to use them here). If you're delivering your sermon and want to display Scripture on the fly, this is a great option.

You shouldn't have to use multiple presentations. If you're looking to add a countdown timer for the service itself, I'd recommend learning about the warm-up section here. If you want to add a countdown timer to a specific slide (e.g. the sermon starts halfway through the presentation and you want it to have its own separate countdown) you can either add a countdown video from the media browser by searching "countdown" or show a timer on that specific slide.

Does this mean that I can create an OSB service item outside of the sermon, and then drag it into the required location in the sermon? Unfortunately, OSB as a Quick Screen is not going to work for us. We may not be able to bring up the Quick Screen quickly enough when the pastor cues us for it while he is delivering the sermon.
- If you want to add a countdown timer to a specific slide (e.g. the sermon starts halfway through the presentation and you want it to have its own separate countdown) you can either add a countdown video from the media browser by searching "countdown" or show a timer on that specific slide.
I think we have it set up, that way, but it didn't show up the last time. I need to verify that before I can respond to this. It could be the fact that the sermon was composed of multiple presentations as I outlined in my initial post.

Whenever you add a service item to your presentation it will populate directly underneath the service item you've got selected currently. In the example below (it's an animated .gif that won't autoplay, so you'll have to save it) I add an OSB item directly beneath my currently selected item (Jeremiah). I can drag and drop that OSB item anywhere in the sermon if I decide that i want it somewhere else. Does this answer your question?

I think I may not have explained my need adequately. I was not asking about adding an OSB item below another item. I was wondering whether I could make the OSB item part of the sermon itself.
Take the sermon in the Example Presentation. It comprises of 3 parts:
- the opening presentation "Sermon: Let Your Life Shine";
- the OSB item Phlippians 2:14-15; and
- the main portion of the sermon "Sermon Outline"
In my ideal scenario, they would all be part of a single presentation. Further, the "Sermon Outline" has references to 2 Scriptures; Ephesians 5:8–14 and 1 John 1:7. What I was hoping for was to have the actual Scripture and not just the citation in the "Sermon Outline" presentation. So, everything - the opening slide, all the Scriptures and the sermon outline would form one big presentation.
Looking at the Example Presentation, I am beginning to think this may not actually be possible. If I am wrong, please advise me on how to make it happen.

Has anyone mentioned the ability to embed scripture directly into a content slide. Just enclose the scripture reference in double brackets, [[John 3: 16]]. When proclaim sees the brackets it will insert a Bible slide for you. I typically type complete sermon notes into a single sermon outline slide using all the built-in shortcuts; Page Break --, Line Fade-In ++, and Scripture [[ ]]. Proclaim does the rest.

I've similarly suggested the ability to add a scripture content slide within a song Michael. I think your method would be a nice solution for adding scripture to both single sermon outline slides as well as within songs (which are also single slides).
