I'm from a different culture. Can anyone tell me what a switch hit is and how it relates to hermeneutics please?
Thanks.

Didn't mean anything to me either[:)] but
Thanks Graham. Suppose it means we need to be flexible and adaptable in our hermeneutics.

I found the term used in two resources—the Believer's Church commentary on Romans and Devotions from the World of Sports.
The author of the article in the commentary did not have hermeneutics in mind. I only read the paragraph containing the term, but the author was speaking of bi-sexual practices in the culture surrounding the NT. Having researched this in studying Romans 1:18-32, I am not sure the practice was as wide-spread as the author implies. In American (US) slang, the term refers to deviant sexual practices—At least, it is deviant from my understanding of Scripture.
In the devotional, the fact that Carlos Baerga was a switch-hitter had more to do with identifying him than anything else.
