SUGGESTION: Traditional / Simplified Chinese switch
Hi Philip,
It looks like Faithlife is now producing every Chinese resource in two versions, Traditional and Simplified characters. They are listed, marketed, produced, and sold separately. This unnecessarily increase your production workload, and as the Chinese libraries grow, this will double our resource listings in our library and give rise to redundancy and potential inconsistency.
May I strongly suggest that Faithlife consider simply adding a Traditional / Simplified switch (either at the Program level or at the Resource level, or both) to allow the user to switch between the two scripts at will for each resource? This will streamline a lot of things for both Faithlife and for the user.
Thanks for your consideration!
Peter

Hi, Peter,
Thank you for your suggestion. I myself also agree with you. However, this is not what we can do. Publishers have copyrights for either Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese resources or both and NOT allowing us do this "Switching SC/TC" function. In some Chinese resources, we are only granted either Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese not both. For example, like 丁道爾聖經註釋系列, we only have the copyright for Traditional Chinese. Therefore, depending on your reading preference, you only need to purchase either TC or SC books. I hope you understand. Thank you.
Best regards,
Philip

That's very unfortunate. Hopefully this will change in the future. I've worked for a publisher before and I understand it's a very siloed, confusing world with archaic copyright/royalty rules.
Thanks for responding so promptly,

Then, may I suggest that in the future, the bundle package in Chinese (ex. 銅)can sell in either Traditional or simplified Chinese solely? Because I believe most user will only read one version of the book instead of both. It's useless and waste the money to get the same book with both language.

I agree with Kuo-Yang. And if I do need to convert some text from Traditional to Simplified or vice versa, I can easily do that in Word or online.

Actually, another concern is cluttering up of our already cluttered Library [:)].
If there is duplicate, I will keep the simplified one and hid the traditional one. Apart from the various Chinese Bibles, I only found 3 to hid for now. May be Logos can give us an easier way to identify the duplicate; sorting by name may not work well as simplified and traditional Chinese titles, Chinese names, are different.

I second this idea.
Can Logos provide an option to download only simplified or traditional Chinese resources when both are available? Or can we choose to remove one version from our Library when both are already downloaded?
Downloading both versions by default is not a good idea. It's kind of like downloading two identical resources, one in American English, the other in British English.
Thanks!
