Introducing FaithLife to Congregation
Hi all,
I've used Logos for over a decade and love it. I would love to introduce it to people in my congregation, but, the price tag for someone starting out may be prohibitive.
Anyway, I found that FaithLife is free and Logos has it as a product: https://www.logos.com/product/36338/faithlife-study-bible
My question is...is this a desktop version (which is what I would like to share with others) or the app (which I'm already familiar with and recommend). I can't tell because the "add to cart" is grayed out because, I assume, I already own Logos.
My assumption is that this is the Logos Engine with FSB. If that is the case, could someone verify before I start pointing people to this?

You need to get the free engine - available from https://www.logos.com/support/install_logos_6 - and then "purchase" the free FSB
Note, this include study notes but not the biblical text itself.so your congregation would need to purchase a Bible as well - these are available at https://www.logos.com/products/search?Resource+Type=Bibles&start=&sort=pricelo&pageSize=15 including the LEB for free
Also well worth looking at https://www.logos.com/product/55923/lexham-intro-collection which has the FSB but also the Lexham Bible Dictionary

Thanks Graham. That's kind of what I thought (after I did the post). It would be nice to have everything bundled together. Some of my folks aren't that computer literate, but would benefit from Logos/FaithLife. I'll probably do a webpage explaining the process and linking to the various resources.

Worth noting that if they want to get their personally preferred Bible there are options for them to purchase those separately and they would link to the FSB as well.

Thanks to all for the pointers. I'm including much of this in a guide I will share with the church. I felt a guide was needed to understand all of FaithLife's offerings and opportunities (i.e. FSB, Logos BS, Noet, Vyrso, FaithLife Groups, etc.)

when you do it, maybe you could post it here. My husband introduced it to our church and it is NOT as user friendly as he thinks it is - (he has used Logos for years so for him, it is probably very second nature.).

My goal is to get Bible Study software on their computer (not so much their mobile device). I believe having it on their computer will make them more interested in other resources.

I think one of the reasons why FaithLife seems so confusing is because of how FaithLife has evolved. For instance, these forms are at "logos".com ...not faithlife.com. FaithLife was Logos to begin with (as far as I remember). Other products started showing up.
I don't know the real reason for the name change, but they started putting everything under FaithLife and integrating the FaithLife Groups in each of the products.
When I try to explain it to people I talk about the FaithLife Ecosystem. While my interests are with Logos, not everyone will be interested in the full Logos software. The free FaithLife Study Bible using the free Logos engine is a solution for many.
It would make more sense to me if they renamed the free Logos engine to the FaithLife engine and allowed people to download a full desktop version of FaithLife Bible Software. Maybe they do and I'm missing something.
If someone has a different take on things, I'd be interested in hearing it. My goal is to help people get started with a full featured bible study environment.

Since Logos has the basic package now, is there any reason to point people to the FaithLife Bible Study mobile app? Would focusing on the Logos Bible mobile app be best? (I have FaithLife Study Bible mobile app on my phone, but don't usually use it...so I'm not sure if there is value in having people install it rather than the Logos version.)

Thankful for mobile app reply by Kevin Byford => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/135715/880577.aspx#880577 that mentions free account creation includes more resources for access plus can "purchase" Basic packages for more access-only resources (free to use, but not owned so has no effect on dynamic pricing).
