How does one use redo?

I was in a presentation today. I deleted a slide accidentally and wanted to get it back so I clicked the undo arrow on the top right. Instead, it deleted text from the next slide. I hit <ctrl><y> for redo, but nothing happened so I had to reenter the text for the one slide and recreate the deleted slide. is there no way for undo to refer to the immediate prior action? Is there no way to make redo work?

Yep - Bob the 'Undo/Redo' function is a bit of a nightmare.

There is some functionality and there is some logic but it is inconsistent across the application.

I for one would rather the system was either simply non-existent or made so say the last dozen actions were queued up for an undo list.

I too have had little success with undo. What worries me most is when I undo and see no discernible change or message, leading me to believe that the undo was performed on some other slide somewhere that I'm not aware of and will turn up during the srevice.

I know things can be frustrating sometimes, if we let them be. At the same time, what we would like and what can be accomplished may be two different things. I am so glad to have Proclaim as a tool, if it can be even better by having an undo/redo functionality that follows MS windows, for example, then great, If not, it is still better than what I could do without it.[:)]

I'll look forward to what the techs say about how to deal with this.
