Ipad remote connection issue

I have set up the pc and the Ipad pro for a local wifi connection using these instructions:

I have checked these settings twice.

I used the ipad for our first worship service with no issues at all.

At our second worship service, an error message appeared on my ipad as I was preaching, and the connection to the pc controlling Proclaim was lost. Luckily, the people in the sound booth were able to advance the slides. However, I lost the notes I had prepared for each slide.

What causes the ipad to loose the connection to the pc? I have checked the wifi signal strength in the sanctuary where I preach. It is in the range of -58 dBm to -65 dBm.

I would very much like to use the ipad remote and proclaim as the basis for my sermon. Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Our team is taking a look into this issue. One thing that we do want to clear up is that you connected the remote and you didn't disconnect from the remote until it disconnected on its own?

That is correct. I connected the remote to control Proclaim, and then halfway through the sermon, it disconnected on its own.

During the first worship service everything worked fine. I had this issue at the second service.

When the remote app is opened, the app makes a request for a statusChange a few times every second. It appears that the connection was lost and the local Proclaim app after 10 seconds did not receive these requests, therefore there was a complete disconnect. Althought we werent able to determine this by the logs it appears that this may have been caused by a WiFi issue, the app should have reconnected automatically when a WiFi connection was reestablished. Although this is not something that should happen again,if it does happen again please look at the top of the iPad for the wifi signal strength, and/or if the little network spinner is spinning. That should determine if there is an issue with the WiFi at that moment.

So, if I understand you correctly, this issue was caused by a lack of WiFi signal. Is that correct? If we would somehow boost the WiFi signal strength, the issue should be resolved, right?

We will try to increase the signal strength.

Also could check for WiFi signal interference. Wikipedia has 802.11g article showing three channels out of eleven in the 2.4 GHz band that do not interfere (overlap) with other channels => https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/802.11g

Another possibility could be switching to 5 GHz band for WiFi => https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11ac
