Bug: Chinese Bible Reference and abbreviation
Hi,
I have tested all 66 books and the abbreviations as shown here
Hebrew:
- Full book name 希伯来书 - OK
- Abbreviation 来 - not working
1 - 3 John:
- Full book name 约翰一书 1 - OK (note: book name is displayed as (约一))
- Abbreviation 约一 1 - OK
- Full book name 约翰二书 1 - OK (note: book name is different format from 1 John (约翰贰书))
- Abbreviation 约二 1 - wrong ... yields John 2:1
- Full book name 约翰三书 1 - OK (note: book name is different formation from 1 John ( 约翰参书))
- Abbreviation 约三 1 - wrong ... yields John 3:1

Hi LimJK,
Thank you for reporting this. I've passed it along to the development team. While obtaining help from Philp Peng, we discovered that if you witch your keyboard to Traditional Chinese the abbreviations should work. He has told me this shouldn't be the case (I.E. You shouldn't need to have the keyboard set to Traditional Chinese), but I thought I'd let you know as a temporary work around while we fix the bug.

I have actually tried all the 4 permutations ... of Logos Chinese UI (Simplified and Traditional) and macOS Chinese Keyboard (Simplified and Traditional) the problem is the same. I think you meant if I use the following abbreviation it should work (yes, indeed, I will use this for the time being)
- 約壹 1:1 (note: as mentioned before in the drop down Logos render the Bible Reference as “約一 1:1”
- 約貳 1:1
- 約參 1:1
However, the following is an internationally acceptable abbreviation for The Epistles of John for the Chinese Community
- 約一 1:1
- 約二 1:1
- 約三 1:1

Thanks for update ... not yet ... when I set Language to Simplified Chinese ... what I have reported is still not working. did some investigation found some in consistencies in Name of Books across all the Logos Published Chinese Bible (both Traditional and Simplified)

Abbreviations should work properly now in 7.6 (7.6.0.0027).

Oops, I forgot to mention that if my Language Settings for Logos is "English" all the English Bible Abbreviations are working properly in all my Logos Chinese Bibles. That happened to be my normal mode of operation. Thank You!
