Program goes to screen saver mode too soon

For now we don't put bible verses in the presentation so it's about 40 minutes between one song to the last song. During this time someone has to touch the mouse pad every couple of minutes or a blue screen will show up on the wall. Once that happens we can touch the mouse pad and it will put the presentation back up. Is there a way to lengthen the amount of time before it goes into a screen saver mode or could this be a projector problem? The presentation stays on the computer screen when this happens. The computer screen saver is set for 45 minutes.

This suggests to me that there is a screensaver in the projector itself which is kicking in.

Have you checked whether that is the case?

I haven't checked the projector yet. I'm at a disadvantage. Our preacher left unexpectedly and this job just kind of fell into my lap. I don't know all the technical things yet.

A blue screen on our projector means the signal from the computer is gone. That usually happens when the computer shuts off the display, which is not necessarily a screen saver function, but a power management function of the computer ("Energy Saver" on a Mac). I would look there. There's usually settings for both battery and power adapter.

Yes, turning off the display is different than putting the computer to sleep. Everything continues to run.

On Windows, use the "Power Options" control panel. One of the power plan settings is the time before turning of the display. Different "power plans" have different defaults for that. I think the "High Performance" default is "never" but other plans will shut down the display after a set amount of time. See here:

On Mac, the Energy Saver preferences is where this is configured. It's not as complex as Windows (you don't define "plans"). See here:
