Thanks Melissa! This is very helpful for those of us who have a download cap. What about being able to download these automatically at night like mentioned it the Logos Blog?
http://blog.logos.com/archives/2009/11/automatic_updates_while_you_sleep.html
"With Logos 4, manual updates are a thing of the past. No more syncing
your licenses or manually downloading updates to your software. Logos 4
updates while you sleep."When will we be able to set downloads to when we sleep? My cap is off between 2 & 7 am, if I could set my downloads for then it would be really helpful and that's when I try to be asleep.
Thanks again.

It would have been nice to know that this would set off 4-5 hours of reindexing.

Indexing is necessary after a resource download, however, you can right-click on the Logos icon in the system tray to pause indexing, then resume it when you don't need to use your computer.

Melissa,
My experience has been that not every download requires a full re-indexing. that's why I would like to know if it does need it. That way I can plan my downloads.

I believe when the size of the supplemental index reaches a certain percentage of the size of the full index a re-index/merge is triggered. This would be contingent on the size of your library and state of your index. It would impossible to issue a blanket "this indexing will last longer than normal."
Prov. 15:23

You can plan your downloads if you set Automatically Download Updates to NO ie. you can refuse the download (and indexing) until you are ready.
