Bug: Three-Column Layouts & Bible-Text Selection in the Middle Column
Computer: Surface 3
OS: Windows 10 (Version 1703)
Browser: Chrome Version 59.0.3071.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I've been experiencing pretty regular problems with three-column layouts and especially with the three-column layout that has two rows in the rightmost column (e.g., 1, 1, 2 or |1|1|2|). This is the layout that I've been experimenting with most lately, so other layouts may have similar problems. I don't recall, however, experiencing these problems with the most basic one and two column layouts. They have arisen in both Chrome and Edge, as I recall.
The most common issue I've run into is that if I place one of my original-language bibles (e.g., LHB, BHS, or NA28) in the middle column (i.e., column 2) and link it to one of my lexicons (e.g., HALOT or BDAG) located in one of the side columns (i.e., column 1 or 3), then when I left-click on a word, it fails to pull up (or populate) the corresponding entry in my lexicon. Furthermore, when I right click on a word, the context menu will regularly fail to populate that selection but will open another selection aligned to the right of my cursor, the column, and/or line/verse (e.g., selecting a word, a chapter or verse number, or an entire verse). See the screenshot below as an illustration, in which I right-clicked on אנוש or אֱנ֑וֹשׁ (w/ nikkud) in Genesis 4:26, but the selection in the context menu is the surface text of verse number "26", well to right right of where I had placed my cursor. Sometimes I'll even get an odd selection at the top of the screen (e.g., in verse 22).
I do not experience these context-menu problems with other resources such as my lexicons (e.g., HALOT) placed in the middle column. In that case, I can right-click on the word that I want to select in my lexicon, and the context-menu will populate correspondingly. That said, other complex, data-rich resources could potentially exhibit similar issues.
I've also had some occasional problems with panels failing to load in the same layout and perhaps most commonly in the middle column. I usually load resources from the command menu. I may have to experiment with this more, however.

I should add that sometimes after right-clicking a word, the subsequent selection will occur be at the beginning of a column, line, and/or verse rather than always or strictly to the right.

Have you checked which resource has the focus indicated by the orange line at the top of the tab? In your screen shot the focus is on the left side not the right as you expected.

Thanks, MJ. I didn't even think about focus, which I'm usually aware of when using the desktop app. Actually, in this case, the focus is exactly where I expected: In the middle column (or the leftmost column of this screenshot, since I cropped the image). You can't see my cursor because I used PrintScreen, but it was hovering over אֱנ֑וֹשׁ in Genesis 4:26 of the Lexham Hebrew Bible (i.e., middle column or left side of the screenshot). In other words, the context menu appears about 9 words too far to the right! In this case, it also looks like a word is still highlighted in HALOT from earlier (i.e., "clay" in the right column), but that usually hasn't been the case when I've encountered this problem.
I actually just got this working in the middle column after loading the web app, which remembered where all my panels had been previously. I then broke it by moving LHB out of the middle column to the left column. Perhaps the problem has to do partially with factors such as 1) moving bibles or other linked resources out of their original locations, 2) changing layouts after already opening and/or linking resources, and 3) saved layouts (which the Logos Web App handles automatically right now).
Here are more detailed specs that include my two displays in case they're relevant:

After a bunch of testing I was able to repro this. As you alluded to, it appears the right-clicks are thrown off after moving a panel to a different pane.
Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the report!
Left-clicks too!
I think I had figured out what precise actions reproduced this bug recently but didn't have the time to submit a bug report until just yesterday. By that time I had to experiment again.
Thanks, David, for reproducing and addressing this so quickly. Keep up the good work! [Y]
