PB: Dr. Constable's Expository (Bible Study) Notes
I have received permission directly from Dr. Thomas L. Constable and Sonic Light to provide these copyrighted works (of Dr. Constable) on this site for Logos Bible Software users. Dr. Constable's notes "provide commentary on all 66 books of the Bible, and contain 8,547 pages of material," and make for an excellent addition to your Logos Personal Books library (I had to provide a link as the system would not allow me to upload some of the books)!

Since Logos sells an older edition of this resource, it is against the ToS to post a link here to a free version.
Using Logos as a pastor, seminary professor, and Tyndale author

Interestng. It's against Soniclight's copyright policy to make the notes available commercially. This is strange ... I'll have to get to the bottom of this (also I thought I had searched Logos, but apparently not).

Any chance I could ask for you to email it to me?
I searched for a contact on your website but didn't see one

Disregard. I'll pull them off the website and make my own. Thanks!

For the price, having these in Logos with tagging is an incredible bargain. I have these, recommend them enthusiastically and use them regularly.

Note: These appear to be 2003 version and there may be substantial revision since then with the online version.
I also have them in esword for mobile apps (which frankly work far better) and they are free there.

Well, considering there's probably around 1500 more pages since the 2003 version, I would say they have probably changed a bit! I'm contacting Faithlife to find out about this posting.

Please let us know what you learn.

Indeed I will. Hoping to hear back soon, they are looking into it.

Thanks! Considering that their edition is 13 years old, yet the notes were updated as recent as this year, FL shouldn't expect us to buy the obsolete edition.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Yes thank you for asking though I'm doubtful you'll get a response but hoping you do!
I downloaded the htm files and converted to word. Not pretty but not bad either. I'll try importing them later to see how that goes. None have header text and it would take me years to add that

Mattillo:
You'll have more success starting with the PDFs and using Word to convert. Headings survive well and you get the live footnotes, also. I got stuck trying to find a consistent pattern for Bible milestoning, but I'll get back to it this weekend. It will probably involve a VBA macro. I'll post the code when I get it working. When I get home from work tonight (US EST), I'll post the Word macro code that converts every PDF in a folder.

That sounds awesome Robert. I can't say i'm all that familiar with Macros though. If you could explain how I could use them that would be great. When i convert PDFs I usually use Calibre. I have Microsoft Word though so I could try that too if you could give me an idea how...

Mattillo:
The attached document has a general purpose macro to convert all PDFs in a folder. Just open the docm and click the button. It needs Word 2013 or later to run.
I'm hoping to have a more elaborate macro specific to the Constable files, if you want to wait.

Neat! Thank you sir. I'll try to use that this weekend and see how it goes

Also if you do make a more elaborate one and don't mind sharing I'll try that too

I, too am very interested in using this. Thanks for sharing the fruit of your labor with those who don't have your skills. What version of Word is needed to make use of this (and the forth-coming) macro?
Thanks, Nord

Sorry, I don't have a Mac to test. These things sometimes work cross-platform, but if there's some object / property / method not available, that can kill it. I didn't include any Windows API calls hoping the 64-bit version of Word would work, but apparently that's not enough in this case for Macs. I imagine someone with a Mac and macro skills could troubleshoot it.

Yikes! I did that and the compiled result had 2500+ unrecognized Bible milestones. I know the main problems causing the vast majority of issues.
When I have the opportunity to fix it, or at least make it feasible to correct remaining issues manually), I'll be able to share the macro. I won't be able to share it here, as that would be tantamount to posting the file and interfering with Logos' marketing of the older edition. If anyone would like to, email me and I'll send the macro when complete. My email address is easily discovered. I won't share your email with anyone, except my brother-in-law who sells life insurance...no, just kidding.

Wow! How can I quote someone without paying attention to what they said?? I see you had already answered my question. I'm still using Word 2010 so need to upgrade.
Thanks again

I downloaded these and converted them myself in "quick and dirty" manner. I could wish they were done better, but I can access them for my own study. I had opportunity to meet Dr. Constable and was impressed with his heart. I have found these commentaries to be a good blend of pastoral heart and tacking the issues an expositor will be concerned with. It seems to me that if Galaxie does not want to update the 2003 edition we should not be bound respecting what is now mostly out of date. Every year Dr. Constable revises them and as new scholarship comes out he does major revisions. What is available on his website now bears little resemblance to the Galaxie version Logos markets.

OK here's the latest:
I've dialogued with Dan Pritchett and he said that the Product and Licensing Teams are in middle of working to update the notes and are close to having an update ready. So I am not to post them. Dr. Constable's notes are generally updated annually, so I don't know how current they will be kept in a Logos format, but we'll see. As far as converting them yourself goes, using the PDFs and converting them to Word seems to result in the best formatting. I used Adobe Acrobat (not Reader) to convert them to Word and it did an excellent job. They could certainly also benefit from tagging or whatever it is called, but that would indeed take a extraordinary amount of time. I would imagine that the Logos version will be tagged with milestones, datatype links, resource links, etc., so it would be very superior to this process. All that being said, if anyone would like more info. about this, you can email me at marckdavis1 at gmail dot com.

I'm unable to get the dropbox "button" to click so I can download the macro. Is anyone else able to do so? Does anyone else have a macro that works as well or better? Thanks much in advance!

Hi Bill:
For whatever reason, I've had a rash of Dropbox links get dropped out of the box, but this particular one still seems to work for me. I wanted to attach it directly to the forum here, but I guess the forum software is spooked by .docm files (sheer superstition). Here's the Dropbox again:
