Advanced search - Passages that show intimacy with Christ
I'm studying and teaching on intimacy with Christ. I'm using the two accounts of foot washing. The sinful woman washing Jesus' feet, and Jesus washing the disciples feet.
I want to find all passages that reflect intimacy with Jesus. I tried to find the sense of "intimate" or "intimacy" but only found 1 occurrence using the concordance filtered by senses. Any other ideas?
I have Verbum 7.
Thank you.

Hi Scott. What you are going to want to do would be to find some passages that have clear textual references to intimacy to start your search with. John 13 isn't a great option, because although they are an intimate moment with Jesus, the Evangelist never really stress that in any explicit textual way.
A better starting place might be something like John 14:23: "Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him."
You'll want to open the Information Pane (in the Tools menu). If you hover/click on the verse, it will populate, and the idea then would be to look through the Info pane for tags that are in some way or another related to intimacy. When you find one, you can then right click on it, select that tag, and choose to search on it.
One that pops up is "God: Presence" within the Preaching Themes. If you click on it to open the Sermon Starter Guide, you can find a bunch of other related passages. Or, you can right click on the tag and search your Bible for it.
In the passage you mentioned about the sinful woman washing Jesus's feet, for example, the Info Pane is tagged with the Cultural Concept of "Kissing." That topic also gives you some interesting parallel passages.
The idea then would be to take these starting points and look at the more interesting passages that they point to, and repeat the process. Look at the Information Pane for tags or words that seem of interest, then open/search for them. Eventually you'll end up with a pretty complete vision of passages centered on intimacy, even if they don't have that word, and even if Verbum hasn't explicitly tagged passages using that word.

Perfect! Thank you Fr.! I will give that a try. I appreciate you taking the time to answer questions.
I really enjoyed the advanced search video by you and Fr. Andrew. It has opened a whole new way of dwelling in, and sharing, his Word.
God bless you and your ministry.
