HIGHLIGHTS DISAPPEARING when books are updated!
Yet again, this has happened to me, and I am becoming very irritated with this situation every time a book gets updated in FAITHLIFE-EBOOKS.
I just received an update on THE BOOK OF MYSTERIES by JONATHAN CAHN, and all of my highlights disappeared. This is the second time this has happened to me, and not too long ago at that. If this is going to happen to me every time I highlight in a book, what is the point of highlighting anything????? I had read half of the book, and lo and behold, when this update downloaded, what I had highlighted disappeared. ??????? Very, very weird. I am getting very discouraged of this happening to me. This is utterly ridiculous!!!!!!!!

Same experience for me yesterday. When this happens to you, are your highlights gone forever, or can they be restored? I posted about it yesterday...

Where do I find the ""hit the spacebar" fix."????
I think I need to be told how to do this step by step, because I do not understand.....

John Marino I don't know what's happening, but now, I cannot even get to do anything in THE BOOK OF MYSTERIES. It is like the book itself is stuck. Really weird!!!! As for highlighting, the last time there was an update, all of my highlights disappeared from 3 of my books. Really irritating......[^o)]

On your keyboard - usually at the bottom. Copy/paste the link and then press the spacebar

When I was learning to tweak personal books, I discovered that changing the formatting could sometimes end up shifting or deleting my highlights. I believe that this may be similar here. By reconverting this resources, we may be in a "catch 22" here.

In the THE BOOK OF MYSTERIES, the bar on the right-hand side is still showing that I have read half of the book, It is the highlights that have disappeared.So, am wondering if there is anything that I can do to bring the highlights back.....

There are two conversations going on, which seems to be the cause of your confusion. The "space bar fix" and references to the "link" aren't about your primary issue at all. It is a reference to pasting links within the forums so that users can navigate to other threads. When a user pastes in a link but DOES NOT "hit the space bar" afterwards, you get this (non "clickable" link): https://community.logos.com/forums/t/159417.aspx
When you "hit the space bar" (or sometimes hit "return"), you get an active link: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/159417.aspx

There is absolutely nothing you can do except wait for FL to respond. It is <possible> that they may be able to fix the problem.

I recommend using the following command in the command box: update note attachments
This requires that you are running the application online. It will update all of your notes that are attached to an older version of a resource. This could take some time to complete, but you will be shown a progress indicator notification at the top of the main window.
Once this completes, the notes should be able to find their correct location in the updated resource(s).

For clarification: This would be run on the desktop app... presumably it would push to mobile apps as well?

Correct. After the command was run on the desktop application, the modified notes would sync to the cloud, and could then be retrieved by the mobile apps.

Was so happy to get ALL of my highlights back in all books.
I just wish we would have been notified about this on the first go round. Now we all know what to do when updates occur, and our highlights disappear. "Update Note Attachments." IT WORKS!!!!!
