Important Information about Faithlife Connect and Logos Now

For Logos Now customers being migrated to Faithlife Connect, here are a couple important details to know.

1) You will maintain your Logos Now benefits until your Logos Now renewal date, or 11/12/18, whichever is later. By way of example;

  • if your Logos Now renewal was up this April, we extended your access at no extra cost to you and you will get all your Logos Now benefits until 11/12/18.
  • if your Logos Now renewal was up in December, you will get all your Logos Now benefits until December.

2) Additionally, with Connect Starter, you get Faithlife TV, Faithlife Courses, and Logos Editions of Bible Study Magazine (BSM) right now, along with a promo code to use on a library, feature set, or an upgrade to Connect Essentials or higher level of Connect, if you wish. You can get started using Faithlife Connect at connect.faithlife.com/get-started.

3) Effectively, nothing will change for you until 11/12/18 at the earliest (later if your renewal date was later), and you'll be able to enjoy all benefits of Connect AND Now until then.

The Logos Now FAQ page may be somewhat helpful in answering some of your questions: https://connect.faithlife.com/now-faq

This comparison chart may also be helpful in determining the differences between Logos Now, Connect Starter, and Connect Essentials features. The chart doesn’t take into consideration all the other benefits that come in Connect Starter and Connect Essentials: https://connect.faithlife.com/now-connect-compare

    Chris,

Just curious ... what is the significance of 11/12/18?  Why was that particular date picked?  Something to do with the rollout of L8?

It would be truly significant if it was 5 years earlier!

I had the same question when I first saw this Mike. Perhaps it is because we both don't live in the US. Personally I don't understand why the full form is not used in this kind of setting to eliminate possible confusion.

Chris, thanks for "standing in the gap" as you and Phil (and Bob) attempt to satisfy and explain to what appears to be an emotional time for some.

My request is a little more simple, would you be able to also add Full and Extended Logos Feature sets to the Connect/LogosNow chart, for those who are trying to make the most economical and functional decision?

This would definitely help in a very transparent way to decipher which is the most economically viable decision point.

    Thank you again,

    Warmest Regards,

    Dave

Could someone explain how it works with the courses? On the website is says: Depending on your subscription level, you can take up to eight courses a year. Choose from over 200 courses on a broad range of biblical and theological topics.

How can you choose? If I go to the connect hub right now, there are only a few courses available, but 196 unavailable. Does this list change?

Can you post a screenshot, please. I don’t see unavailable appearing anywhere in the list of courses, and I see over a hundred to choose from.

I see 11 available + 193 unavailable.  The site calls these courses ''plans.''

I dunno how 2 post a screen shot.

It sounds like you are looking at the Courses tool inside Logos. That's not the store website, that's the Logos web app.

You first have to "purchase" a course for $0.00 using the coupon code from the Connect web site (store). Once you've done that, Logos will download the course, and it will then appear in the Courses tool.

You clicked on the Courses icon at the top of the hub, which opens the Logos web app and shows you your available courses that you already own.

Instead you need to scroll down to "Claim your benefits," purchase a course for $0.00 using the coupon code, then go back to Logos (web app or desktop), which will download the course. It will then appear in the Courses tool, where you can start it.

    You’re welcome.

Yes, it is access only (a temporary, not a permanent license). The course is removed after six months, and you have a year to use the coupon to choose a course.

More details are in the FAQ: https://connect.faithlife.com/faq

Hi Beloved - The email I received from Faithlife suggests that the coupon can be used now or you can wait and use it when Logos 8 is released. No specific date is given as a deadline.  Here are the actual words of the email:

You’ve been a big part of what has made Logos Now such a great program, and we want to show our appreciation. We’re not quite ready to announce a release date for Logos 8, but when it comes, you’ll save $200. Just use coupon code NOW200OFF once Logos 8 is released. (Don’t worry: we’ll send you reminders with the coupon code once we release Logos 8.)

And if you can’t wait for Logos 8, feel free to use it on any Logos 7 base package, feature set, or library (English language editions only). To apply your savings to a Faithlife Connect subscription, call (888) 308-7621.

    Hope this assists.

    Keep well

    Paul

Okay Have been making my way through the wilderness and just when I thought I made it out I fell into a hole. FLC says that have access to T&T Clark Johannine Studies (10 vols.), but having tried the online app to no avail. How do access the collection without outright purchase? Any clues ? By te way only two days left...

    Thanks for your reply, Paul,

My question is in response to this email. The time frame for release is not disclosed as explained, however, no limit was announced probably for the same reason. I am asking for clarification or a guesstimate.

It seems the link from the connect page does not open a book - which maybe is due to the fact that FLC gives access to a bundle and thus is unclear about which book to open. So it just opens the app.logos.com webpage for me, too. However, FLC giving access means we have been granted with a temporary license which again means those books downloaded into our libraries. You can filter them out by putting series:"library of new testament studies" into the library search field of either the desktop application or the web app.

I know but not there ether?

You have been subscripted to FLC, right? You could check https://store.faithlife.com/account/subscriptions?ssi=1 to be sure - just since Chris wrote someplace that they have a number of customers on a "special" list that were not transferred/notified automatically but needed manual treatment and my experience is that when people do a number of things from a list manually, somewhere there will be a glitch. Maybe your account was not fully converted to FLC or whatever. Maybe Chris can look into your case or have someone do it for you.

Nor are there any pending downloads....

The web app should have all your books (minus those few not licensed for internet access) - and in the desktop app the only way to make sure is using the update resources command as it verifies all your entitled licenses against your library.

Somewhat confused. The main question I have is the reason we all signed up for Logos Now. That is, all the new enhancements that won't be part of the Logos package until Logos 8 comes out, but have been available to us in Logos Now. Will those same future R&D enhancements continue to be available to us from now on in Faithlife connect? All the other stuff sounds good, but the only reason I would continue with Faithlife connect is if the other things that we are used to, continue to be accessible to us. Anybody have a concrete answer?

It is a moot point. Anyone who had a LN subscription will have the benefits of LN extended until November. L8 will be out before then (at an unknown time). If your question is "will L9 features be available in Faithlife Connect after L8 comes out," I think the answer is "no," but we dont really know. Bob did indicate that releasing the new features early was problematic.

Yes, early release access is a part of Faithlife Connect (Essentials). I believe FL isn’t drawing attention to that, to avoid the expectation that new features can be delivered every six weeks.

Bob did indicate that releasing the new features early was problematic.

He said the expectation of new features being released every six weeks was problematic (tail wagging the dog). He indicated that there were new features they wanted to work on which would take several months to develop, not that we would have to wait a whole release cycle to ever see them.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

A lityle confused.....My contract with Logos Now expires 1/2109. So do I understand that the credit we received via email can be used to extend or contract of Faithlife Connect now.

    Chris,

How do I get access to BSM? I can't seem to find it. And will it also be include when I get switched to Faithlife Connect Essentials (No Library)?

Never mind. I kept digging and was able to find it. This is what i had envisioned when I first subscribed to BSM. In the Logos version the links and searches etc make it infinitely more useful than my old paper versions.
