EEC Update
Good news: EEC Philippians is on track to be released by the end of the year. To ensure quality, all 500,000+ words have been through several rounds of review and editorial. It’s in great shape and we’re excited to release this volume by Mark Keown.
Unfortunately, EEC Jeremiah will not be released this year like we hoped. Walt Kaiser has written a fantastic commentary—very approachable and pastoral—but during our academic review we have determined that the manuscript needed further technical discussion and text-critical engagement than was ready in time for the deadline. We believe this delay, while not ideal, will ultimately serve EEC readers better, as it will further strengthen Kaiser’s excellent contribution.
Several other volumes are also nearing completion. Joshua, 1 & 2 Chronicles, and Amos/Jonah/Micah all have complete first drafts and are currently in the review/revision process. In addition, the authors of Leviticus, Daniel, and Galatians all hope to finish their first drafts by the end of summer 2017. Shortly after, the authors of Ecclesiastes hope to finish their first draft by early fall 2017.
As always, we remain committed to delivering high-quality EEC volumes and we are very excited to release each forthcoming volume.

I am pretty sure in the press release they gave an awesome explanation. In college I would have been expelled for not citing my research and if I ever write a book, especially an academic book, then failure to cite my research would cause the book to not be published. I personally cannot understand how the publisher's did not catch it before it was published. Don't forget Dr. Varner was not the first author to do this. But any school will expelled students for doing this.

Whilst not disagreeing with any of the positive and appreciative comments on this series recorded above; please do note that a significant number of the unpublished titles have had their publication dates pushed back; and in a number of case by quite a few years. This is not to be confused with estimated dates that have arrived that we didn't have before.
So I suppose also with the furore over the attibution and citations issue currently raging we should embrace that fact this (and other) series will necessarily take longer to complete to the 'higher bar' quality now expected.

It would be good to get another update. I posted this on another thread about three weeks ago. Two of the dates have changed.
This year has the potential for 8 volumes to be releases:
- Amos, Jonah, & Micah - January 31, 2018 Now March 31, 2018
- Galatians - February 1, 2018 Now June 1, 2018
- Jeremiah - April 30, 2018

I too can't find the stand alone website - either this is a domain registration/renewal issue or more likely they have reconsidered its value and ceased it.

I am very much looking forward to Kaiser's commentary. My approach to reading and understanding the old testament has been so influenced by him that I'm excited to walk with him through an entire book of the Bible, especially Jeremiah, especially since the commentary is pastoral (as I would expect from Kaiser)

Any updates on this Jake? I'm thinking about grabbing the EEC from March Madness but I'd like to know if possible the updated release dates. I know they can change but at least updated ball parks would be nice. Also, I remember from a much older post that the volumes were being changed and modified? Is this still the case?

Also I find it very confusing as to what is in a set and what it is owned. See picture from EEC site on Logos.
- Jeremiah isn't listed at all but if you go to Lamentations it is part of a set that contains both... am I getting dynamic pricing for Jeremiah since I own it? Also, from your earlier post at the top of this set, you mention it was in a review phase. Is that almost done?
- Song of Songs is listed but if you go to that link it is combined with a set that includes Ecclesiastes. Is dynamic pricing included even though it isn't listed?
- I own Colossians for some reason (probably got it in a set) but the page for Colossians is empty. When will that ship? From what I remember it was bundled with Philemon.
- 2 Peter isn't listed but I believe that is bundled with Jude? I believe I own it but it isn't listed. I do own Jude.
When you have time, please give us an update. I'm hesitant to purchase the rest for these reasons as it seems there are more questions than answers.

If they did that, they wouldn't be able to include them in a publisher's sale for at least six months! Rather ironic given that they are the publisher.....
From what I was looking at last night, it seems like the new Faithlife Connect Essentials is going to be the best way to get a discount on (at least some of) these titles.

EEC as a set was on pre-pub several years ago. Those of us who bid on the entire packaged were promised the best price. It might be possible for Faithlife to again offer the set with forthcoming volumes at a mediated price for a short period of time. Allowing those who could not take advantage of the earlier offer or were not around for it to get a discounted price on the remaining volumes.

Once in a while the EEC volumes go one sale (indeed once or twice i believe there was a free volume +1 for $1.99 which is how I got 1,2,3 john, James and Esther it may have been get a third for $4.99), the prices mentioned of course are well below prepub pricing, but I do remember seeing other volumes on sale once in a while. All these seem like decent volumes and if the EEC went far enough along in March Madness it is something I would consider but as it looks like it will loose out in this round I am not sure there will be enough of a discount to make me reconsider as I had not been overly impressed with the initial volume released and didn't think the EEC was for me, but having lived with these three I have come to really value the 2 NT volumes for sure although I have not spent enough time with Esther to evaluate it fairly one way or another.

PS: Very happy to own James because it was deemed to be guilty go plagiarism. It was not intentional but rather than repairing it it was withdrawn, but I value it even though i know in academic circles it would be a bit of a pariah.

These four "double" volumes will include the second volume when they are released in the future. It's an artifact of the resource system that the second volume isn't listed in the title of these resources, since only the first volume in each of these has been actually released.

Floyd is correct. The 44-volume set was offered on Pre-Pub for a time when it was first listed. Since then, the collection has been discounted from time to time, usually only for significant promotions like the Publisher Spotlight or March Madness. Plus, the regular price of the 44-volume set is a significant discount off the total SRP of all the volumes taken individually. We try to be sensitive to these customers who purchased the Pre-Pub years ago by not undercutting their investment except in special circumstances (like the Free Book of the Month promotion a few years ago).
As for a comprehensive update, I'm working on collecting those details--many of them have been difficult to track down. I should have more to share later this week or early next week. Thanks.

I know this has been said quite a few times by many over the years, but as a purchaser of the entire set back in 2011, I have been strongly disappointed by the continuous postponements of volumes being released. I appreciate your honesty that many details have been difficult to track down, but this is more than discouraging. Your comments make me wonder who takes the production of this set seriously at Logos? Is there anyone actively working on the production of this series who is consistently in contact with authors and prodding them along to meet deadlines? I don't pretend to know the whole editorial and production process, but the extreme slowness we have seen just cannot be acceptable by any modern book publishing process. Please do something to ensure deadlines are met. Thank you for hearing me out.
