Podcast Artwork?

I've just started recording sermon audio with Proclaim, hosting it at Soundfaith, and podcasting via iTunes. I can't figure out how to get the cover art in the podcast to change. I've set my Faithlife profile image to our church logo at the iTunes required 1400 x 1400. I've also attached high res images to the sermon audio when publishing from Proclaim. Neither of these seem to make a difference in the podcast feed which stays as the default blue microphone. Any thoughts?

I'd like to see an answer to this as well. I can't figure out how to get my artwork in my iTunes podcast through Soundfaith.

Thanks for joining in on this, Kevin. I hope someone will take notice.

Hello Nick and Kevin, support for custom podcast art is planned but not supported at the moment. I'll bring it up again today to see if we can come up with any workarounds to get this done faster.
Are you expecting to be able to specify a single image for your feed? Or an image for your feed and a unique image for each entry? When I was testing iTunes a while back I was having a difficult time finding where the images for individual entries were used.
Thanks for the feedback.

Scott, thanks for the reply! I'm mostly interested in having a static podcast image. I would just like our church logo rather than the default blue microphone icon.

This feature has been added. Go to your account settings page by clicking your user avatar in the top right corner of the page on soundfaith.com and selecting "Settings". On this page, you are able to upload an image file to be used as the podcast cover art. You can also enter your email to be used as the email for the podcast.

Just tried it. Thanks so much!

I changed the artwork in my settings last week, but the podcast artwork is still the blue microphone. Any ideas? Also, when I click on settings, I get two accounts. I don't know why there are two. As far as I know, I'm uploading audio to only one account, but both accounts have all our sermons in them.
Thanks,
Nick

One is tied to the church, and one to you as the speaker. You need to have the image on the church feed.

Are you clicking the Save button at the top of the screen after you change the artwork?

Thanks for the response, Justin. I actually changed both images last week. I'm not sure which is which, either. On the settings page, they are both named Versailles Christian Church. When I click on them, I get links that end in versaillescc for one and versailles-christian-church for the other. If I sign out and back in with my personal Logos account, the second one remains and the first is replaced with mine. It guess that means the second is the church feed. Still don't know why the artwork isn't updating.

Peter, yes, I've clicked save.

If you click save before the upload is done, it own't work. You have to upload, wait on the image to change, then click save. It is clunky (because an image file big enough for iTunes is pretty large), but that was my experience.

Justin, I was waiting for it to upload, but your comment got me thinking about file size. I think I was uploading an image smaller than the 1400x1400 requirements for iTunes. I've just uploaded a larger image, and I'll wait for Apple to refresh the podcast to see if it worked.
Thanks.

Folks, I'm still stuck with this one. My images are iTunes compliant, but they're still not showing up. Any ideas for this? It doesn't seem like this should be such a big deal.

Hello GCF Media,
It appears you've set a podcast image on https://sermons.faithlife.com. How long ago did you set it? It may take a few days before the iTunes feed refreshes to pick it up.

i think its a file size issue.. ill upload a 1400 x 1400 vs our 533x533 icon.. ill report back if that fixes it

Did that fix your issue @GCF Media? We are having the same issue and support still hasn't come up with a solution.

Rev. Brandon,
Did you double check the size of your icon? Also, are you sharing your RSS stream from here https://sermons.faithlife.com/profile/orlandopentecostal , rather than here

Hey guys,
Are you guys still having troubles getting your Podcast image to change? I believe we made a fix a while back that would allow you to change your Podcast image. If you take a look at my image you'll notice mine has been updated.
You can update these images on sermons.faithlife.com
However, if you are wanting your podcast to appear on the iTunes store front you'll want to follow this guide: https://create.blubrry.com/manual/podcast-promotion/submit-podcast-to-itunes/
It'll have certain requirements for images. Looks like Nick mentioned them in a few previous replies as well.0 -
Yes we checked the size and filetype; It is correct. Also, we clicked the embed button and used the url under the podcast feed tab. The audio shows up fine and the image shows in iTunes after you subscribe, but not when someone is searching for our podcast.
I updated the podcast image on Monday to a higher res (still within apple guidelines), but when I check the rss feed, it still shows the old image. Something is wrong with your system since you have several users with the same unresolved issue. We need answers, or start crediting our accounts.

Hey Rev. Brandon,
There are a couple things at play here. Right now your podcast provider is doing everything iTunes requests and episode images are still missing. We ran your podcast feed: https://sermons.faithlife.com/api/channels/6974492/feed through an RSS validator here: http://rssvalidator.net/
You'll notice that on our end everything is coming back with green check marks. However, your image is still missing. I think there are a lot of things that are to blame here, but we could definitely be better at abiding by the requirements Apple lays forth. With that being said, we are going to look at this further this coming Monday. Our goal is to make sure the podcast URL will change and make sure iTune's URL updates to the correct rss/xml your feed is providing.
Note: This is in in an experimental stage we plan on testing Monday.Again, I do apologize for the disruption and appreciate the patience as we investigate this matter.

Hi. We are having trouble with this as well. However, I tried the link you have listed above for the RSS validator and it says there are no episodes available. However, they all show up on the sermons under faithlife, and they all transfer to our itunes podcast fine. But, the logo remains the blue microphone. We've updated the image to ensure it meets the requirements of itunes, but it still hasn't changed.
Thanks!

Capital City Church, are you sharing the RSS feed from your Church group as opposed to your individual RSS feed?

We are using the feed from our church group.

Can you link me to your iTunes podcast page? Also, can you send me the picture you've used to support@faithlife.com?
