Word lookup woes

After installing 6.3.1, Word Lookup continually failed on both my iPad and my iPhone. In both online and offline modes, the wheel kept spinning for several minutes. If it ever returned a value on the iPad, it was the wrong word. The phone would sometimes eventually display the correct word—usually, I just got tired and terminated the lookup.

I deleted and reinstalled the beta on both devices which corrected the problem. I am posting this here for information only.

Did you try deleting both resources?

What do you mean? I deleted the Beta from both devices and reinstalled by way of Test Flight. Now, Logos works correctly on both devices. Lookup is practically instantaneous both online and offline.

From a beta testing perspective, the first thing that popped into my mind is that there may have been some mismatch between the resources you had downloaded (your bible and dictionary) and those on the web server. It may have been some sort of mismatch causing the whirlybird.

That's a possibility. If it happens again, I'll try deleting those resources—unless it happens on Sunday morning [:P]

Is this the only way to get the feature working? I know I’m late to the party trying this. I normally use accordance but decided to try logos in service today but I only get the iOS dictionary. Got home and uninstalled bdag, halot, esv, nkjv, and reinstalled and I get the same nothing. Works with Greek bible. But not English bible. Do I have to uninstall the (latest) beta and reinstall? If so why is it necessary to uninstall / reinstall?

I don't know that it was really necessary to uninstall/reinstall. That was just the method I tried, and it cleared the problem for me. Can't even remember what inspired me to take that path [:S]. Deleting and reinstalling the lexicons might have also solved the problem.

Are you initiating lookup from an English translation? I initiated the Hebrew lookup from the LHB. Just tried Greek and Hebrew lookups from both OL and NKJV. Worked correctly, although the lookup from the NKJV was noticeably slower than from the UBS5 or LBH.

Thank you for the reply, Jack. I've tried both approaches now. Deleting the resources and deleting the app, but the results are the same.

When offline, I get results from my lexicon for OL bibles. But I do not see any results from a lexicon in english language bibles. I've tried several lexicon and bibles. I thought from what I read in several posts that it is supposed to work for english language bibles as well. Is that correct?

Logos Bible 6.3.1.0522. iPad Pro 9.7 w/ iOS 11.4 b2 (I'm off the iOS beta channel now, no need for me, but still on beta until final).

It works for me from the NKJV, although it is noticeably slower than from the OL resources.
