Lexham Press on Michael Heiser books, but not on Faithlife

Any chance of getting the Michael Heiser sale of Faithlife eBooks?  https://gospelebooks.net/christian-ebook-deals/michael-s-heiser-e-book-sale.html   (Also Unseen Realm at $6.99)

I realize these are among the most popular Lexham titles, but if you are willing to let Amazon sell them for $3.99 and take a cut, surely you can sell them for cheaper than $15.99 on your own platform. :)

I agree. Something very odd is going on. All these Faithlife publications are on sale at Kindle, but not at Faithlife.

Surely Faithlife make more when they sell through their own website than when they sell on Amazon.

Ummm, Amazon copies of the book do not have all the Logos links. These require much labor to hook up. You're getting as much as you are willing to pay for.

If we are just talking about Bible verses, which is very likely the case for these books, all that it would take is running a regex on the master copy of the text (which Faithlife owns since it is Lexham book).  Most certainly, we are not talking about a difference of $12+ per copy sold.

Regardless, the main point is that the Kindle and Faithlife direct price are usually about the same, but this month Faithlife has these titles on sale at Amazon, but regular price direct, causing a huge price difference.

Some of his books are in logos and sales don't usually carry over to there though I agree that they should. He does have some in the ebooks site though that should carry over though. I haven't checked since this original post went up but he has some fiction books that weren't on sale.

The Transformative Word Series don't add much value in Logos, other than having them all in the Logos library. It would be nice to see this series offered at the Kindle price - especially as they are very brief and probably over priced at "full" price.

Thanks for your concern. For the past few months, Lexham has been running a pricing experiment with our titles on Kindle. Our goal has been to find a price where our products still retain value (vs. run of the mill $0.99 ebooks) while providing a "no-brainer" price for our customers. Because of the complexity of listing products on both Faithlife Ebooks and Logos.com in our backend system, we haven't extended this pricing strategy to these storefronts (though we're currently discussing different options).

I would like to point out that the product you're receiving when you purchase from Amazon is a different product than the one that is sold on Logos.com or Faithlife Ebooks. As Jack alluded to above, the digital product you purchase from Logos.com or Faithlife Ebooks is tagged and linked to your Logos digital library. There is a hard cost associated with those digital features and it provides utility a simple ebook cannot hope to match.

We're happy to hear your feedback. Hopefully we'll have some news about pricing our books on Faithlife Ebooks and Logos.com in new and exciting ways in the near future.

So are pure e-book titles from Lexham Press and Kirkdale Press fully tagged? This information is certainly new to me.

Both books, "The Unseen Realm" and "Reversing Hermon" have extensive links to other literature and commentaries. Without using these particular books in Logos, you would miss a lot of needed links to your library.

You are confusing the publisher with the format. "Logos edition" resources are specially tagged... "Ebook edition" resources (Faithlife eBooks, formerly Vyrso) are auto converted and have limited, automated tagging. Part of the confusion may be that some (but not many) "logos edition" resources are sold through the eBook store.

That's been my understanding so far, but it's contrary to what Jake wrote.

Thank you for the reply.  I understand that "Logos edition" books normally cost more than "simple eBooks."  What I would like to see in the future is a comparable sale.  For example,  if you are going to cut a $14.99 book to $3.99 on Kindle, it would seem to make since to cut the $19.99 Logos price to $9.99 or something like that.  This would make it a "no brainer" to buy the Logos book instead of settling for the bargain eBook. :)

    Thanks for you consideration.

But, in context, he is talking specifically about the Michael Heiser books, which are sold as Logos editions in both stores (Logos.com & Faithlife eBooks, emphasis mine):

His comment wasn't about Faithlife eBooks in general, but rather the Logos edition resource which is co-listed in both stores.

Thanks for the explanation. In the case of the Transformative Word Series is there much tagging? They seem to be more like "Vyrso" ebooks. I value the volumes I have, but I find them too short to warrant buying at full price. However, I concede I've discounted buying in Kindle at the reduced price as I'd prefer to have them in my Faithlife library. I'm grateful you are discussing the pricing strategy. I'll certainly pick up more Transformative Word volumes as they go on sale at Faithlife.

The context is not only on Michael Heiser's books, but on all the Kirkdale and Lexham titles linked in the first two posts. Some of these are Logos editions, but many of them are e-book editions.

Is there any possibility the Transformative Word volumes which appear to be merely ebooks will be made available at favourable prices via Faithlife too?

I'll pick up at Amazon when needed but won't buy unless I'm preaching on a particular book. However, I would buy volumes at Faithlife if on sale.

I would think that the Kindle store might reach a demographic different from Logos. Sales and market testing there might produce results not wholly analogous to the Logos store. I suppose FL gets paid either way. .I won't overthink all that, but just buy if and when and where makes the most sense. Certainly, I far prefer to buy within the FL ecosystem.

Hopefully folks caught Michael Heiser's Angels on sale for $9.99 when they had it at that price ever so briefly at the beginning of the Christmas Sale. Now it's on sale for $12.99. Not sure why they changed the price in the middle of the Christmas sale.

I have this, but just checked the current price on Logos and it is $9.99.

Weird. I have it too but it's showing on the website as 35% off at $12.99 when I look at it. Well at least folks can still get it at $9.99 if they haven't bought it yet.

EDIT: I see the problem. The sale page is showing it as $12.99 (35% off) but the product page is showing it as $9.99 (50% off).
