Bug with Bible References

iPad delay when viewing bible references in a book
I find a five second delay when clicking on a bible reference in a book when online.
I find an infinite delay when clicking on a bible reference in a book when offline.
My prioritised bible is the ESV and it is downloaded to my iPad.
The delay is marginally less using the release version on my iPhone X

I don't know if I quite understand the issue, so let me provide an example:
I am reading a book and come across a hyperlinked "Hebrews 13:5" and click it. Are you saying that it takes five seconds to provide content in the popup? If so, what happens if you delete your ESV and run "in the cloud"? Redownloaded?

I am indeed.

I have no idea - it isn't something that I would normally do.
Edit
But I did as you suggested and the delay has reduced to a heart beat.
It begs the question, especially for those with a large number of downloaded resources, as to what is the recommended frequency for 'refreshing' ones downloaded resources to prevent this delay building up.
I would be interesting, for curiosity's sake, to know what the received wisdom is as to the underlaying cause of the delay, especially as it is evident in both the stable and beta versions of the program.

Again, one of the reasons I strongly recommend that users be judicious in the number of downloaded resources!

I believe the issue is that a newer version of the resource and the older (downloaded) one cause the delay. Its like "I know where to go... oh wait, that isn't right. Let me check again" [:P]

If that be the case then something is amiss with the update system!I would be interesting, for curiosity's sake, to know what the received wisdom is as to the underlaying cause of the delay, especially as it is evident in both the stable and beta versions of the program.

I seem to remember that in the past I have received notifications that new versions of a resource were available with the option of (re)downloading now or later. It would be depressing to know that ones local library has to be reinstalled on a regular basis to prevent the app slipping into ever greater cycles of confusion.tootle pip
