Question for Faithlife re: Ancient Christian Writers: Augustine on the Psalms

Hi I had a question regarding the ACW series. There are only two volumes of Augustine's commentaries on the Psalms (link here). I'm not seeing any pre-production information about the remaining volumes and was wondering if there are any future plans to bring on the remaining volumes in this series. I'd probably pick up the two that are available now if I had some feeling that the remaining volumes would be coming any time soon.

    I'm not a Faithlife employee, but they already have many more volumes in the ACW series, including a 12-volume collection of Augustine:

    Do you have any evidence that further volumes of Augustine on the Psalms in the ACW series besides vol 1 (Psalms 1-29) and vol 2 (Psalms 30-37) exist in print? I can't find any such evidence in my searching, so I think that Faithlife has all the volumes that are available. Perhaps you should address your question to the publishers of the ACW series, Paulist Press, to see whether they plan to bring out any further volumes.

    In the meantime, all of Augustine's discourses on the Psalms are available in a different translation in Nicene and Post Nicene Fathers, First Series, Volume VIII.

    Thank you- good catch. It had not occurred to me to check with the publisher. You're right, for whatever reason, only the first two volumes are in print. I don't quite understand why that is the case.

    I appreciate the suggestion by the way. I do have and use the translation that you refer to from the Nicene and Post Nicene Fathers series. For many reasons, I struggle with the Schaff translations, not least of all because of their readability. I wish we had an alternative.

    There is a full modern translation of Augustine's Expositions on the Psalms from New City Press., translated by Maria Boulding, OSB, who is noted for her exceptional translation of Augustine's Confessions as well. Unfortunately, neither is available on Verbum/Logos.

    I hope we see some modern translations of these important works on Verbum some day.
