Good morning...
Is there any way I install Libronix on a PC with Windows 10?
Thaks you, Peach
Hi Peach - and welcome to the forums
I seem to remember a recent discussion about this concluding that it would be difficult to do outside of a virtual machine environment - but I can't find it at the moment.
May I ask why you want to install and use Libronix as opposed to Logos 6?

+1 Welcome [:D] plus doubt if Libronix 3 could be installed in Windows 10. Technical reason: Libronix 3 used the Internet Explorer 8 display engine. Windows 10 has new Edge browser replacement for Internet Explorer. Microsoft's Compatibility Center shows Internet Explorer 8 and 9 are not compatible with Windows 10:
Note: Internet Explorer 9 has a compatibility option to use Internet Explorer's 8 java script rendering that allowed Libronix 3.0g to work.
A virtual machine can run an older version of Windows with Internet Explorer 8 or 9 that all

Welcome [:D]
The Resource Auto Update script needs a working Libronix installation to update.
Support has a Libronix 3 Installation page (with deprecated note) => https://www.logos.com/install3 (been over two years since have updated Libronix 3.0g resources; Logos 6 is more useful)
Keep Smiling [:)]
Now i was installed Libronix on windows 10.
Most of function can use.
Just a little things happened.
windows 10 can't save workspace.
but that is a small thing. you can use most of libronix.
Well done
Still interested in why you are not choosing to use Logos 6 instead?
Where can we find the updated list of Libronix functions that are still not yet in Logos 6??
[[Logos 6 does have a steep learning curve BUT remember that this forum is listed under SUPPORT]]
I haven't tried Window 10 yet, but I recently installed Libronix 3.0g on a new Windows 8.1 system with IE 11 and it works fine except for one or two issues which I think started with Windows 7.
I've been using the newer Logos since it came out, but I still find the old Libronix MDI interface easier, faster and more flexible for certain things, like comparing several Bible versions and commentaries. I often have both Logos and Libronix running and flip between them.
My latest PC is pretty much state of the art, but Logos is still sometimes a little sluggish, especially after it's been running for a while. My previous PC was quite a respectable quad core, but I found Logos very slow and unresponsive on it in comparison to all the other software I used.

well I use windows 10 on 2 different machines and I have on laptop and on PC the same problem: Pressing the save button to save a split screen dont works (dont know the word in english - after I opened few texts and splitted them, i want next time to not reopen one window after another and place them, instead I want to open all windows right placed with 2 click).I bought SESB (Stuttgarter Elektronische Studien Bibel), running libronix 3.0g and I dont know if its possible to switch to libronix 6, but I dont guess so.
Maybe there are more buttons which dont work, i didnt search for them, but I would like to be able to use the one I need. Regards

It is possible to switch to (free) Logos 6 but you may need to email or talk (via Skype) to Customer Services about licences for SESB and other products you use in Libronix 3.0g (if you can update your licences from Libronix that will save some time as it will transfer them for use in Logos 6 with the same Faithlife account).

May I ask how you got it installed and what version you are using? We have the Logos Bible Software Series X version 3. We are trying to avoid buying a new version to save $$$.
We are trying to avoid buying a new version to save $$$.
As Dave pointed out (and linked to) in the post just above yours you can get the Logos 6 core engine for free. Would this give you what you are looking for?

And our licensing will work?
Thanks Graham!
I have downloaded the file, "30gSeriesXAutoUpdate.lbxupd." How do I run it?
double-click it like an executable file (but it won't run unless Libronix is installed).
i Have logos bible software series X and cannot install it on windows 10. When I installed the core of logos 6 I did not get my unlocked books on the cds
because I cannot get libronix to install on window 10

Contact Customer Services (by Skype if necessary) about your CD's - make sure you have Serial numbers or other proof of purchase.
Hi There,
I have just bought a window 10 laptop. Can anyone kindly guide me how to install Libronix please? I have written to Logos and they say I cannot use my CDRoms anymore. They suggest a base package to me at a cost of USD899. Or Logos 6 with discount on the books I already own but are not helpful at all guiding me on how to find out the extra money I have to spend.
I have written to them but their reply is slow in coming.
Thank you.

Logos Support page => https://www.logos.com/support/logos4/windows includes:
Libronix Digital Library System (LDLS or Logos 3) NOTE: Libronix Digital Library System was discontinued in 2009 and is no longer supported. As of March 31, 2012, new resource files are only compatible with the Logos 4 program. An archive of help articles can be found here.

On 22 Oct 2009, Microsoft released Windows 7 => https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7
Libronix 3 was written for Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) in Windows Vista. A patch to use IE8 JavaScript in Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) allowed Libronix 3.0g to work in Windows 7 after IE9 was released in 2011 => https://www.logos.com/support/windows/L3/IE9
Windows 10 replaced Internet Explorer with Edge for rendering web pages so would recommend using a virtual machine running an older version of Windows with IE8 or IE9 that has the display engine used by Libronix 3.0g
Apologies: personally using Logos 7 on Windows 10 and have not tried installing Libronix 3.0g on Windows 10.
If your Libronix licenses were previously synced, the same account can be used to freely install Logos 6 => https://www.logos.com/support/install_logos_6 on Windows 10.
If your licenses were not synced, then you can use => https://www.logos.com/redeem to associate your Libronix product code(s) with your Faithlife account.
FYI: Libronix and Faithlife have different login account systems, which has automatic sync. Hence, installing newer Logos 6 or 7 would download older resources licensed for Libronix.
For Logos 7, suggest looking at Logos Now membership that includes a discount for any base package purchase.
not working wont download
Windows 10 replaced Internet Explorer with Edge for rendering web pages
Windows 10 does include the rendering engines for Internet Explorer 11, 10, 9, 8, 7 and probably lower versions as well.
If Libronix doesn't work on Win 10, then that's not due to missing rendering, and root causes should be investigated elsewhere.
The reason I am not really interested in Logos6 or Logos7 is because all i want to do is read the Archive CD-ROMs I spent hundreds of dollars buying some years back. I am very, very far from rich and completely unable to purchase any updated CD ROMs annd feel that having invested all that money I should be able to simply read the documents.
For years I have been trying to do this and, to be truthful, feel that Logos Bible is run by scammers whose only interest is making money and not serving the Body Of Christ!
The reason I am not really interested in Logos6 or Logos7 is because all i want to do is read the Archive CD-ROMs
What CD-Roms are you referring to? You do realize that there is a free version of Logos 7, right? https://www.logos.com/product/136022/basic
If you log in with the same credentials as you used for Libronix, your old resources should be there. If not, call Customer Service. From what I read on the forum here, there are very few features and/or extras on some CDs that might not carry over.
All of that was already described in this thread. But maybe I misunderstood you?
Were your archive CD's ever registered to you and license synced ?
If yes, then concur with Bernhard about logging into Logos 7 (and few Libronix features are not in Logos 7)
If no, then one option is login to https://www.logos.com followed by using https://www.logos.com/redeem to associate your Archive CDs with your Faithlife account. Other option is contacting Customer Service => https://www.logos.com/contact
Recommend "purchasing" free Logos 7 Basic => https://www.logos.com/product/136022/basic that includes many "access-only" resources for you to freely use while having no effect on dynamic upgrade pricing. Faithlife goal is pay once for resource that you can use on your personal devices. Caveat: some publishers allow dynamic upgrade pricing for limited time while others do not allow dynamic pricing at all.
Libronix resources had a mix of publisher agreements: some allowed mobile access while others did not. If mobile access was allowed, then can use mobile apps OR Web App => https://app.logos.com (need to purchase Basic so can use Web App).
Thankful free Basic includes Bibles with Reverse Interlinears so can use my favorite feature of visual filter highlighting to "see" range of Greek verbal expression => https://wiki.logos.com/Extended_Tips_for_Highlighting_and_Visual_Filters#Examples_of_visual_filters Thankful for Faithlife enabling free sharing of documents so visual filters can be copied.
Also Thankful for many free Logos resources => https://www.logos.com/products/search?q=price%3A0&Status=Live&start=&sort=bestselling&pageSize=60&unlocked=no and free Vyrso eBooks => https://vyrso.com/products/search?q=price%3a0&start=0&sort=bestselling&pageSize=60&unlocked=no
Observation: friendly forum discussion years ago would have helped sooner so you could have been using your Archive CDs. Personally amazed by number of years Faithlife kept Libronix servers running after last release of Libronix 3. Thankful could sync Libronix licenses to expand my Logos 4 library (still have CDs - nostalgia).
Faithlife is a for profit corporation. Profit = Revenue - Expenses. CEO reply on 1 Nov 2012 included profit insights => https://community.logos.com/forums/p/58026/413124.aspx#413124
He feels they should be ashamed for this kind of profit-margin, it's not reasonable. What would a reasonable profit margin be? What profit margin does your friend think Logos has? For what it's worth, I got our third-quarter financials earlier this week. For 2012 so far, the Logos profit margin was just about 0.38%. (Not 38%. Less than half of one percent. Now I'm not looking for sympathy -- we're fine. It's better than that most years, and the first three quarters of this year reflect a lot of investment in Logos 5 that hadn't yet generated any revenue. (That's what we're doing now!) I expect we'll end the year with solid single-digit profitability, and we've beaten that in the past. But the point is, we have to sell something in order to be here to serve you into the future. It's insanely expensive to develop software, especially when you have to develop the same software on Mac, Windows, Android/Kindle, iPhone/iPad, Web (and now Windows 8 RT!) simultaneously. While offering free support. So I'll take the criticism that we're always trying to sell you more books -- it's true, and it's the only way we get paid. Though, at every upgrade cycle, it does condemn us to a lot of impassioned forum conversations about the injustice of upgrade bundles. :-) I do welcome your input on a solution. Maybe the "free software" concept was a bad idea? Few other products I have have been offering free engine updates -- in any form -- since 1995. I've bought Word, Excel, Windows, Mac OS, etc. many times in those 17 years. Should Logos just move to paid upgrades, and stop making so many books? (It might be hard to make that change after all these years, but it's an interesting question.) I appreciate your investing in our product, and I hope that you'll continue to believe it has been a good investment. And I want you to know that we're working hard to serve you better AND ensure that we're here for decades to come to support the investment you have made. Input on how to do that is always welcome. (My favorite idea... just convince every Christian in America to pay $3 per month... then we could offer everybody all the content, support, and continued maintenance for a very low price! The only trick is getting everyone signed up at once...) :-) -- Bob

If resource sales slow down, then personnel are let go (reduce expenses) to keep Faithlife profitable (has happened since 2012 = sad). Thankful for Faithlife still being in business plus amazed at free Bible Study capabilities in desktop applications and mobile apps.
For years, Faithlife has provided free Bible verse lookup for many web sites that is discussed in forum => Biblia.com API
Dear Jacmer,

Hi Asvin,
welcome to the user forums!
Can you please send me step by step procedure to install libronix bible software in my windows 10
There's a large probability that Libronix can't be installed under Windows 10 (unless using a virtual machine with older OS) - and most probably it's not even necessary to do so. I would advise nearly every user to install the latest Logos 8 stable version, as the software is free (e.g. "buy" Logos 8 Basic for $0 and install). The products/resources you licensed on your libronix CD-ROM will automatically download to your Logos 8 installation, if you use the same eMail address as when you installed the CD-ROM previously. If the Libronix CD-ROM is new, you can put the resources into your account after you installed Logos 8 by putting in the Product Key from the CD-ROM case into http://logos.com/redeem . Otherwise you can have that done by customer service.
Hope this helps,
Mick
