I do not have that version, as it is extremely outdated.  However, I do have Dr. Constable's 2020 notes in a Logos Personal Book, having used Logos' PBB (Personal Book Builder) to import them into my library.  If you're interested in doing this too, just let me know.

I'm interested

I don't think I have received an email from you Michael (see my post 1 above)...

Mark, I sent an email to you today.  Hopefully you received it.

When you compiled these notes into a pb, did you compile 66 different pbs?

Mark,

When I compiled the 2017 version, I DID compile them in one book & renamed each as follows to control the order:

01 Genesis...
02 Exodus...
...
66 Revelation

If I ever get around to the 2020 version, I'll do the same.

Hope this helps.

Grace & Peace,
Bill

While we can't share the files directly this thread already has all the details necessary. So, look for these posts (I've supplied links to them):

At this link to the 1st page: PB: Dr. Constable's Expository (Bible Study) Notes - Faithlife Forums (logos.com)

Look for OP's post (Mark Davis | Forum Activity | Posted: Thu, Nov 3 2016 12:31 PM) for location of Constable’s Notes, where you can select pdf format for download of individual Bible books (66 downloads):

And at this link to the 2nd page: PB: Dr. Constable's Expository (Bible Study) Notes - Faithlife Forums (logos.com)

Look for reply (Robert M. Warren | Forum Activity | Replied: Wed, Oct 11 2017 5:05 PM) with macro to convert pdf to word doc, which will compile in personal book builder.

Grace & Peace,
Bill

Mark,

When you name the files in a numbered form like that, do you still have to designate each one with [[@Bible:Jos]]   for example  so Logos knows it is a commentary on Joshua?

@David,

I'm not sure David, I don't use Logos' mark-up or whatever that is called.  I just use text names for the books and fill in the other metadata fields to tell Logos that they are commentaries.

Hi David:

I tagged (with bible milestones) the 2017 edition that Mark Davis was diligent to format (excellently) and generous to provide. I haven't had a chance to tag any of the subsequent editions he has provided, though. If you (or anyone else) is interested in that edition, my email is on my Faithlife profile. If you compile the tagged editions in the PB tool as Type: Bible Notes, you'll get the functionality you're seeking. (Type: Study Bible would also work; I'm not sure I understand the nuances.) When I compiled them, I put Gen-Rev in the same PB.

Hi all,

just a quick update here.  The 2021 version of the notes is available from Sonic Light now, so I have downloaded and converted them to (unnumbered) Word .docx files.  In addition, this time I also researched PBB tagging a little, and I have added a tag to the beginning of each .docx file making Logos realize to which book of the Bible each of the .docx files refers.

What this gives you is 66 .docx files that you can put into Logos with the PBB and that you should put into a single named "Series" (that you name, and must be exactly the same name for each book) in Logos, categorizing them as you like (I use "Bible Commentary").  Once compiled and placed as PBs in Logos, they now work like almost any other commentary in Logos - showing up in searches, parallel resources, and even automatically changing which book is opened based on your current active verse in Logos if you've turned on "Link set."  I didn't realize how simple this was to do, or I'd have done it before.

There are two caveats to my latest files.  The first is the same as always, which is that the table of contents (TOC) is integrated into the file, so Logos is not aware of it.  However, if you open the Logos TOC, the only link in it is to the first page of the book, which is where the integrated TOC is anyway.

The second caveat is that this time around, something changed in the latest version of Libre Office and when I converted the books, any image was made super tiny.  This isn't a huge deal because there are not that many images in the files in the first place (e.g. 1 Kings has 9 images, whereas 1 Chronicles has only 1), and you can either edit the .docx files yourself, making the image(s) in it whatever size you like, and the re-Build the PBB in Logos.  Or, you can simply right-click the tiny image while in Logos and copy it, and then paste it into anything else and it pastes in the normal size (weird, I know).

IMO, this makes the set much more usable in Logos.  If you're interested in getting them, shoot me an email (email is in this post).

UPDATE!!

If you've already downloaded my files, hold off updating your PBs!  I have discovered that the issue with the images is with LibreOffice v7.x over v6.x.  So I have downgraded to the last version of 6.x and the image sizes are preserved.  So I'm going to make another set using that version of LibreOffice and include the Milestone tags in the new files.  This will make for a much better commentary set with no image issues and all of the benefits listed above!  So please wait for my next post.  If you haven't heard from me yet, don't worry, I'll reply to posts here and emails I've received once the files are updated.  Sorry, but I'd rather everyone had a superior set (I think you do too)!

OK, sorry again about all of this.  I have finished updating and uploading all of the books (again) and I have tested a few of them, and so far, they have worked fine (with normal sized images and everything else I described).  I did notice that even though the images are of good size now, there are some you'll still want to copy and paste (or save or send to PowerPoint) into something else to see everything that's in them (I wish Logos would let you resize an image in an existing document or at least let you double click on it and see it full screen).

I'll be looking through my email now and this forum and getting the info. on where to get them for those who've asked.  Enjoy reading and studying the word with one more excellent commentary set to add to your Logos repertoire!

@Christian Alexander  Hey Christian, you'll need to email me or give me your email.  Be careful about posting it here in plain text though as bots will grab it and SPAM you.  My email address is in the original post.
