Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. This tip is based on the forum post: Translation section of Info Panel - Faithlife Forums (logos.com)
- The sequence of the translation section is by word frequency then alphabetically by the word in translation.
- Within a word, your prioritization of Bibles is followed: see that the NRSV (1) is prioritized as #1 and, therefore, appears first under the translation "wilderness". Similarly, the NABRE is prioritized as #2 which is the highest priority Bible with the translation "desert" where it appears as the first entry.
- As is common throughout the application, if you have not prioritized all the appropriate Bibles, after working through your prioritization, Logos/Verbum falls back to a default system prioritization.
- If a translation, e.g. REB (2), has no reverse interlinear, there is no way to map the translation at the word level so the translation does not appear. See below for a quick and dirty way to verify this.
- If the translation is in another language, e.g. Latin (3), the entry is processed in the same way with no indication of the language.
Quick and dirty check for the existence of a reverse interlinear. Note this is imprecise and should not be used on original language resources:
- the presence of the interlinear icon (4) indicates that an interlinear, most likely a reverse interlinear, is available for this resource
- the absence of the interlinear icon (5) indicates that no interlinear is available for this resource
