What would it take to get this in Logos?

No e-book version is available (according to Google), but this is such a basic book, which has been requested so many times (never to any official response, which is not unusual until PrePub) that I hope it is high on their radar.

Thanks for bringing this up, Everett.  Great question.  ( see also:  https://community.logos.com/forums/p/78032/685701.aspx )  I'd love to see this happen.

Ah, Everett, I see you posted in that thread too!  Smile  I appreciate you raising the issue again.

I did.  I wonder why Logos has not yet answered this or simply put it into PrePub. Is it possible that Logos has too much money, or hates profit, or simply doesn't want to listen to its customer base?

They rarely do so ... but if they are actively pursuing it, getting the rights can take a significant period of time.

Could the second edition in German be offered on CP? If it's PD, pursuing rights is a non-issue.

Second edition was 1922, in English in 1933.  Not in PD.

In the US, (basically) anything before 1923 is PD. So the German is PD.

That's what I thought, Justin, but I'm not sure how international copyright laws work since it was not published in the US.

And if it IS in the PD, we should be able to find an electronic copy and create a PB. Has anyone seen it anywhere?

I have been unable to find an electroinc copy for a PBB.  I would gladly build it if someone were to find it.

Thanks for the offer, Everett. I haven't given up, but no success yet.

I got a repsonse from Logos that they are trying to get the rights, but no other info. As it's been 3 years that we have been asking for it, I sense that it will never happen.

I have contacted the Karl Barth Society to see if they have anything.

I have found this copy in Scribd.  Does anyone know if it will work in a pdf convertor to word?

It appears to already be in doc format. You merely need to switch to docx.

Thanks, I missed that.  I actually see it in .txt.  When converted to .doc, its gonna be a pain to reformat.

If anyone would like to help, please let me know.

I don't have a Scribd account and it seems it wants me to sign up for one (w/ money) to download this.  Am I doing it wrong or is there another way to get it?

You have to pay for it because it is not in the public domain. So you also could not legally share it if you made it into a personal book.

I hate it when a site offers a download and asks for info from you, then after that, you learn you must pay to download it. Sneeky SOBs.

They now have your information to do with what they want.
