NASB 2020
I was just wondering when and how Logos would release the new 2020 update of the New American Standard Bible (NASB). Will it be a free download or update? Grateful for any information.

In all likelihood, no. If a resource is updated and the publisher considers the updates part of the "same" resource, then updates are automatic and free.
In this case, this is a completely new resource altogether. You would have to purchase it, and it would appear as a new resource in your library.

No idea. Typically resources go on "pre-pub" before they are released in Logos. That process can be short or long. The resource is not currently in pre-pub... take that as you will.
It is not unheard of for a resource to jump into production quickly, which might happen here. On the other hand, Bibles probably take much more time than some other resources to convert, add RI's, etc.

Thank you, JT.

Occasionally they also just... appear, already Live.

Thank you, but where? I don't see it Live anywhere.

The comment was intended to say, "sometimes books just appear available for sale, without any pre-pub process at all." It wasn't in reference to the NASB2020 in particular.

Thanks for explaining my inadvertently cryptic post, JT! (Sorry, Irving!)

That would be a neat addition to L9 whenever it comes.JT (alabama24) said:Irving Salzman said:Will it be a free download or update?

VERY IMPORTANT! WILL THIS BE A STAND ALONE OR WILL MY 1995 DISAPPEAR?
Sorry for the caps but they are for emphasis.

You are purchasing a new permanent resource licence. This should have no impact upon the existing permanent resource licence in your library, They are two separate permanent licences. FL should not remove a resource from your library for which you have a legitimate permanent licence.
IMHO

Stand alone as always when you purchase a new resource. The only way an old resource would disappear is if the update were free and considered "the same resource" as the one being replaced.

I just found out that The NASB20 is in production to be published by Logos sometime soon. The price is only $6.99.

Glad everyone is happy about 2020, but I would be twice as happy if they fixed 1977 with notes and highlighting (corresponding) I use this version more than any other- duplicating hilites across other bibles is a pain.

That would require reverse interlinear functionality
I suggest you enter this as a feature request at https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-resource-updates and encourage people to vote for it

Any idea when NASB 2020 will come out? Usually, the pre-production green line indicates how far along they are, but there is no indication when will it take place.

A couple days ago another company stated that they had yet to receive the tagged text, so I would suspect Logos may be waiting for a greek hebrew tagged text to process it. As I would suspect numerous people would be asking about when it would be tagged if it was released without it. The light is at the end of the tunnel just hold on a few more days...

I was told just before L9 launch it would probably be a few more months.
Could be I only know what i read at Accordance, the implied context was it would be days after they got the text not weeks that THEY would be releasing it. That said differing companies have differing processes. I know some people were upset that it was available online yet not from them. Logos will do things the way that is best for them, I am sorry if i mislead anyone, I had guessed that things would be similar at both companies as too length of time to prepare.

Wow, that's means sometime next year.

If it took Lockman Foundation 25 years to produce this update, I believe it is reasonable to give Faithlife a couple of months to tag the Reverse Interlinear.

Sorry, I did not notice you had responded to my inquiry. Based on your response, would it be possible to get an approximate date for the release?
Thank you for your response.

Funny, I have been waiting (like many others) since October of last year for the release of the NAS20, but no one is saying anything. I wonder why does it continue to take so long to release this update. Thanks.

Please give us an update on when NASB (2020) will be released.
Thanks
