Yes, I'll be updating the list every 10 days. The last one came on Dec 28, so Update 8 will appear Jan. 7. I'm going to have to rethink whether I'll be purchasing all the collections as I value them for the Spurgeon recommended volumes. (Not that he owns the corner on the commentary market nor that these collections all fall within the time period he covered.)

Thanks Paul - yes, I wonder how useful they'll be if I go for all of them (probably costing $500), however I like the reverential tone of a lot of them, and coupled with that file of how Spurgeon valued them, that should help guard against following dodgy commentaries far. I am personally looking forward to the Job one ... though that'll be a long time coming I think

It's probably cheeky to ask , Paul, but if you're planning another update after bidding closes tomorrow, then how about adding a summary of total cost so far, total number of volumes and total number of pages? This should help to demonstrate how good value these sets are. (Though, of course, quality trumps quantity every time.) The only thing missing is the Retail Price. For those interested in these volumes, they are definitely a fantastic deal.

Based on past history one or two of the classic commentary sets will be added to Platinum or Portfolio. Logos usually combines new and older sets in these collections. It appears to me that they are sensitive about avoiding a collection with all older stuff.
I had an older commentary set that I thought about ordering four years ago. I passed on it and figured that it would show up in a collection. To this day it hasn't been a part of a collection. If you really want a commentary set or the book collection. It would be best to buy it now (and start using it shortly) rather that wait for the possibility that it may appear in a future promotion.

Andrew, to be honest, I don't think I'll be updating anymore. My main purpose for starting the list was to generate easy to interpret information promoting the progress of each classic commentary collection. I was originally afraid these collections would languish in CP like Barnes Notes did. It turnes out the exact opposite has occurred! If anyone would like to continue posting in this thread or start a new one, I say go for it!

Admittedly, you set a high standard and it must have been a good bit of work, given the thoroughness and frequent updates. If you could be talked into updating, say once a month, to help keep track and ensure that none of the collections do end up languishing, then I'd be happy to lend my voice to trying to convince you.

Digest - definitely. FB Likes - not really, though it's interesting to see how little of an impact this appears to have had with these CP titles. Suggested bidding - fairly useful, especially for newbies trying to understand the process and for oldies wanting a quick assessment. Price comments - similar. Movement - I've found it useful to keep track, especially when there are sudden jumps in bids (see http://community.logos.com/forums/p/46661/346721.aspx#346721). Current peak - it's good to see these all grouped on one page. Page count - I have to say that I sometimes forget to look at this, so it's useful on Paul's overview page, as it adds to the overall picture (e.g. likely cost to produce). Link - definitely useful, as it allows quick and easy reference.
