The discount information for courses expiring from the Mobile Ed Subscription will be included in the monthly Mobile Ed Subscription email. Smile

Ok ok, you've convinced me to signup for it. I just did, and I'm excited about it! :) I hope I'm not too late to get this "monthly Mobile Ed Subscription email." ;)

Next month's course offerings will be announced on the Mobile Ed Subscription PDP page and via email (to Mobile Ed Subscribers) on Friday, March 18th.

Am I not seeing it somewhere? I don't quite understand where these are supposed to be announced today.

Can someone please post the link to the page that Liz is referring to? I'd like to see what next month's course offerings will be. Thx!

I haven't had the subscriber email yet, but looking at the subscription details page it looks like for $50 subscription in April there is just one new course for rental for those that already subscribe - BI181, value $45 if purchased. I was expecting more new courses to be added each month.

I realise that the first month's courses are still there, but I have several of them, and some of them I would not put as top of my interest list. So was hoping more variety each month.

Yes, I am hoping they will add more coming in April soon. Otherwise I, too, will be disappointed. I haven't received an e-mail yet either, so I will wait until I receive that before I let my hopes go up or down regarding the future of this program and my involvement with it. :)

Yes, and currently not on the Roku 1 either as that's broken at the moment. But I believe they're working to fix it if possible.

It does not appear the subscription is intended for users who have already purchased a number of courses. I have all but 3 of the current courses and I have BI181 so next month would be a no-go for me.

I realise that the first month's courses are still there, but I have several of them, and some of them I would not put as top of my interest list. So was hoping more variety each month.

The 3 courses I don't have are all preaching/pastoring related. I am not a pastor so these hold little interest to me. I will wait and see if any more courses get added each month.

For you folks who purchased this in March, I'm curious to know what the discount Logos offered to purchase the courses. Part of the pitch is that subscribers would be notified in an email two weeks before the next month with what the new courses are and how much it will cost you to buy any of the courses you subscribed to. Anyone get that email?

I don't think the email has gone out yet (at least I haven't got it and I am subscribed).

I also did not receive the e-mail and I am currently a subscriber of the Logos Mobile Ed Subscription. How do you suggest that those of us who did not receive the e-mail get access to the subscriber discounts information? I do not see that information on the product page. Will you guys be re-sending? Can someone who got it message me the contents? I would like to know what the discounts on these courses are for subscribers like myself, as that has a pretty big impact on how committed I am to this subscription long term. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Liz,

I didn't get the email although I am a subscriber. Did the email include other details like discounts for purchasing courses?

There only seems to be one small addition to the courses for April - BI181. Is that how the future subscription offerings are planned - to keep almost all the courses the same each month with only one small change from month to month? It would be useful to see what other courses are planned to be added over the next few months to see whether it was worth continuing with the subscription.

We plan to add 1-3+ courses each month. The new courses will be announced 2 weeks before the 1st of the month. If any courses are leaving the plan at that time, that information (and discount for any courses leaving the subscription plan) will be shared in a email to subscribers. [:D]

Thank you for taking the time to re-send the e-mail to me, Liz. I appreciate that.

Alright folks, I think I figured out what's causing some confusion here. Liz stated that:

The discount information for courses expiring from the Mobile Ed Subscription will be included in the monthly Mobile Ed Subscription email. Smile

Notice my added emphasis (bold). Only expiring courses will have discount information included in the monthly subscriber e-mail. Notice she also stated that:

Each Mobile Ed course will be available for a minimum of 3 months within the Mobile Ed Subscription.

Therefore, I think it would be safe to conclude that there won't be any discount information announced until at least another 2 months, because the courses will not expire for at least 3 months. Correct me if I'm wrong, Liz.

Ah ok, I think this confirms my hypothesis. Thanks for the clarification, Liz!

Liz, I appreciate all of your hard work on this new program, it has a lot of potential! It would be a no-brainer I think for tons of Logos faithful if we could just pick our own courses every month (within the 30-hour limit of course).  If there's only 1-3 new courses added per month, it makes it hard to consider it a true subscription, but more on an on-demand (and on occasion) model. I agree with an earlier poster that half of the courses do not apply to my needs and/or we already own them. I think that this is probably going to be true of many/most Logos users, regardless of that month's list of courses. You have lots of really interesting looking courses that I would love to go through, why not just make them all available by choice every month and impose the 30-hour and 3 month limit? I'd sign up today if that were the case! (I know it's not your call, thanks for taking the time to answer our questions)

I was thinking something very similar - perhaps allow something like "4 credits" against each months' subscription and have each course allocated a certain number of "credits". Then let people choose whichever courses they like up to the number of credits. The 30 hour limit that Matthew suggested sounds perhaps even better in that each course probably already has the video time already allocated to it. Bit more programming to set up a way to audit how much the subscribers use. Although probably in practise I would never have enough  time to watch more than 30 hours a month  anyway! But at the moment the preselected set of course options each month, and the low change rate each month,  seems too restricted for my needs.

(The subscription on my account is still saying it doesn't expire for 6 months even though I've just paid one month - next renewal date is showing as in September so perhaps I have 6 months left to try it! [:)] )

I agree completely with Matthew that the choice of courses should be under the users control. My reason is that if I am learning in order to achieve a certificate in one field, I want to be able to concentrate on that field. Or if I am wanting to build on an earlier course, with another course, I do not want to have to wait until FL makes it available. Or what if I have missed an earlier course I don't want to begin in the middle of a study. Or wait for the course to be offered again, whenever that might be. I think this is a great idea, but the lack of options on courses and my choosing the course of my study holds me back from signing up.

There are no plans for academic pricing/academic discounts on the Mobile Ed Subscription.

Liz, does it matter what day of a month you order the subscription? Is it three months from the first of the month or from the date you purchase? Thanks!!!!

The three months starts from the first of the month (not from the date you purchased).
