Good question, Michael.
Based on my use, here are the top five in each category that I wouldn't like to be without in the future if that can be avoided:
5 Datasets:
5 Features:
5 Interactives:
Some of these intersect (datasets feed features or interactives), so there are really less than 15 new items, but that should give you an idea.
Great answer, Mark. That is very helpful.
Are all of these features available if you are not online?
Yes.
Agree!
Good question, Michael. Based on my use, here are the top five in each category that I wouldn't like to be without in the future if that can be avoided: 5 Datasets: New Testament Use of the Old Greek Grammatical Constructions Systematic Theologies Section Biblical Theologies Section Systematic Theologies Section 5 Features: Link a Lexicon to a Bible Corresponding Words Visual Filter Multiview Resources Emphasize Active Lemmas Greek Grammatical Constructions guide section 5 Interactives: Hebrew Bible Manuscript Explorer New Testament Manuscript Explorer Septuagint Manuscript Explorer New Testament Use of the Old Testament Commandments of the Law Some of these intersect (datasets feed features or interactives), so there are really less than 15 new items, but that should give you an idea.
The only feature that I found that I really enjoyed was the Systematic Theology dataset. It was almost worth it just to keep it for that. The resource previews never interested me, nor did anything else. FWIW, I have opted to not go with LogosNow over waiting for a package or crossgrade when L7 releases.
In this order:
The biggie for me is multiview. I'd pay $100 just for that, because it's such a time saver over the long-term. I use it dozens of times a day.
I have the Hebrew Discourse Datasets, I open a Bible (e.g. NKJV or ESV) go to visual filters but nothing on Hebrew Discourse available only the proposional outlines. Is that one and the same? I'm supposed to have access through my membership but can't seem to figure it out. Seems like it's the same to me but in the video it says Discourse and not propositional outline. Help!
DAL
The Discourse dataset is a separate set of items under the visual filters
Thanks MJ! I'll double check tomorrow again when my laptop is on and done with a windows update.
G'night!
Mark Smith has provided an excellent list. My usage is not quite as broad:
If I took time to explore some others, my list would probably grow [:$]
Regarding datasets 3, 4, and 5 in your list, am I correct in understanding that with both the old and new versions of Logos Now, the benefit/value of those last three datasets is dependent on the size and nature/contents of your library? I.e. Logos Now will provide the datasets, but the value a person derives from them is largely dependent on the resources a person "owns". It's not like a subscription to the Logos Cloud which would also increase the effective size of your library, thereby giving you more content for those datasets to work with/from.
First of all, I see now that I listed the systematic theologies dataset twice, so I only have four top datasets.
Now to your question: yes these two (eliminating the repeat) give results dependent on the size and nature of your library. They return hits from your library alone.
According to your screenshot, MJ, the discourse datasets should be under corresponding words, but is not showing. I checked the rest of the menus with different Bible versions, but nothing. This is starting to get aggravating. It seems like some features downloaded and others didn't. Do I need to own/buy something else to make it functional?

These? Yep, they read the same as yours. I just copied them and pasted them from my end. So, I don't understand why they're not showing then.

What Original Language Bibles do you have? The announcement says "* Please note that the discourse dataset was developed for the NA28 and the SBLGNT. Accordingly, if you enable the visual filters on a Byzantine Greek text or translation heavily dependent on the Byzantine textual tradition (e.g. KJV), there may be significant discrepancies between the data within this dataset and the text itself. "
This appears in the Proverbs Browser as references outside the book of Proverbs.
On the Proverbs Explorer the window shows the same as your screen shot. On the other versions, e.g. ESV, NIV, etc. the Discourse for Green and Hebrew do not show under the visual filter. It's like it's missing even though I have the datasets. In the video they show the Discourse dataset in action with ESV and NIV and they say you can use any version, but nothing on my end.
DAL, The Proverbs v2 is simply an update with additional content for the same interactive resource.
Discourse Datasets/Visual Filters should indeed work in ESV, NIV, and other Bibles with reverse interlinears. It looks like the version of Logos you have installed is out of date. Just type Update Now into the Command bar to download the current version, and that should fix the problem.
You may also want to make sure you have automatic updates turned on to avoid this problem in the future:Tools>Program Settings>Automatically Download Updates: Yes. Download Between Midnight and Midnight.
After updating, restart the application for the changes to take effect.
DAL --
If someone has asked this question, I've missed it: What version of Logos do you have? (Help -> About Logos Bible Software). If you're up to date with shipping code, it should be 6.13. If you're on the beta, it should be 6.14. The Discourse stuff is supported in 6.12 and beyond.
Adam and Rick,
I have had Automatic Updates running between Midnight and Midnight all along. I click the update command and a message tells me no updates are available, no updates were found. So apparently, somewhere between version 6.7 (This is what I have ~~>Logos Bible Software 6.7 6.7.0.0036) and 6.14 things stopped updating. Only books I've purchased have downloaded and it went through a lengthy indexing last week (about 4 hours).
So I hope this information helps!
DAL,
Thank you, and sorry about the problem.
Close Logos, and install the update manually by running the setup file. That will install 6.13, and hopefully also resolve the automatic-update issue. If you have any additional problems, it'll be time to give a call to our excellent support team: 1-800-875-6467

Thank you Adam! I'll go ahead and follow your advice. If it doesn't work, then I'll call support team.
Thank you Adam! Problem solved! It seems like everything is there now. If I run into something else, I'll just call the support team. For now the Discourse Datasets for Greek and Hebrew are showing just fine. Thank you again and have a blessed weekend!
Ps. Thanks to MJ, Rick, Andrew and Bradley who were on point trying to help. They were just waiting for the extra info that was needed in order to figure out what the problem was. You guys are super!
