Not sure if this helps, but I asked the question in this thread about whether there is an advantage to purchasing the Full Feature Set (FFS) if you were a "now" member. Mark Barnes gave a concise answer ... no.

Basically, if you are a "Now" member you have all the "7" features and continue to receive "8" Features every 6 weeks or so. Being a "Now" member also gives you free monthly previews which Russell mentions and that you have seen.

You can but a "7" library if you want. That would be bundled resources (at a discount) - separate from the FFS.

There is a post in the Logos 7 forum that has the complete list of "Now" features, datasets, media, etc. If you are first time member those would all be new to you. I believe.

I want and buy the full feature set. I have no idea if I will stay with the subscription. I like owning these items. But now when I look at the drop downs for pricing a library I do not have an option to buy a feature set since I have it with LN.

Your questions make complete sense. You were thinking clearly about the L7 options offered - and have pinpointed the place where the site still needs revision: no option to add FFS for cost (or disclaimer that FFS not included) on the Base Package/ Library product pages for Logos Now members.

With love and respect, IMO FL "threw themselves a curve" by retaining Base Package terminology (always meant 'Books + Features') for LN members, many new - causing confusion even for FL, https://community.logos.com/forums/p/129645/843265.aspx#843265). Perhaps BP language was inherently trickier for L7, w/ new emphasis on (and expansion of) 'Membership'. Just a thought.

"Logos Now" ≠ "Full Feature Set." Logos Now is a membership program. ONE feature of that program is access to all feature sets past, present and (as they are developed) future. There are a number of other benefits as well.

An analogy: Why would you purchase Movie X on blue-ray when it is on Amazon Prime free to stream? To own it.

(Personally, I am fine with renting features, so I am not inclined to purchase the feature sets.)

As far as the functionality of the software goes, there does not appear to be any advantage (except when the Now membership expires and ownership is in play).

I was trying to tease out, by asking Russel, if there was any other (monetary?) advantage to subscribing to Now and purchasing a Feature set at the same time.

(I'm with Alabama in terms of renting the Features versus owning.)

If you would want to keep the Features without Now renewal you could get a good discount, own the Features, and not have any future subscription costs.

I'm guessing without any facts, but I think Faithlife is providing flexibility for a variety of users with differing situations of Now membership or no membership.

It might be that Russel may have owned a higher level base package than you have in the past and so may have already owned more of the features in the starter feature set.

For me the costs are as follows:

Logos 7 Starter Feature Set (L7 SFS) $14.06 USD

Logos 7 Full Feature Set (L7 FFS) $112.86 USD

Verbum 7 Starter Feature Set (V7 SFS) $19.39 USD

Verbum 7 Full Feature Set (V7 FFS) $110.71 USD

Part of the discrepancy on the Logos 7 v Verbum SFS for me is that the Verbum Starter set has Reverse Interlinears that are for Catholic bibles that are not in the Logos 7 SFF but are included in the Logos 7 FFS. Note there are lots of other differences to the price differential between the two and this is just one example, though the both offer me 36 new features/resources For the FFS , L7 FFS offers me 96 new features/resourceswhile the V7 FFS offers me only 86 new one.

True, but the key, I think, is why? Does the Now discount change? (I guess anything is possible, but that aspect is not making sense to me.) I bought the starter feature set now to decrease the FFS price later. But I don't want to wait too long to get the full set because if I "can't" renew Now, then I certainly can't get the full set! A Logos 7 Feature Set will be discounted to Logos Now members at 25% off of its regular (or your Dynamic) price. This offer is unlikely to change in the the foreseeable future.

The Logos 7 Full Feature Set already contains all the resources it will ever have. i.e. If you purchase it the day before we release Logos 8, it will contain the same resources it contains today.

One of the advantages of a Logos Now membership is that the new features that are released on a 6 week cycle are made available for you to use. Those features become part of Logos 8, not part of Logos 7.

But curiosity compelled me to get Now while I can afford it, and I hope I can get enough discounts and stuff to make it worth it. I have been at work offline and not able to check my dynamic pricing. In the second reply Russell pointed me to https://www.logos.com/products/search?q=feature+set . Prior to Logos Now my dynamic price for FFS was 129.xx . Just now when I checked it, having bought LN, it is $121.xx. So the 25% off may not be quite 25% or other dynamics changed the equation. I was expecting about $32.00 less. Probably agree that other relies lead me to think I should no worry about buying for now.

If I am sticking with LN keep in mind that my original question had some other parts.

Can I tell in my list of 3,000 resources which will disappear in a month?

Probably needed a separate thread. I had a message that my Logos 7 had download about 102 resources. 40 or so were that other religion stuff. I think some were new interlinear or updated ones. I think maybe we get a mEd. I really don't know since I closed that window. If I have the downloads for 30 days I would like to find them and try to read them. Scrolling through all these I just can't tell what is new. Sometime on my phone the icons are missing for new items but then the icon shows up. I can sort of note from there. I think there was a book on Theology.

For the new library resources, you can sort it by the Last Updated. Also you can view the License Type. The Temporary licenses are the ones you are looking for.

You probably have to right-click on the column names to make the License Type column show up.
