NT314 resource no longer available
NT314 uses The Message of the Sermon on the Mount (BSTSRMNMT) (1978) which is not sold.
I own The Message of the Sermon on the Mount (BSTUSSRMNMT) (1978/1985, same author, same publisher), which is available.
I understand the reasoning of not updating a course, so customers who already own one edition wouldn't be forced to buy a different edition.
But the flip side is that people who buy the course now, and find that a linked resource is not available, miss out on a significant amount of reading (since that particular resource is linked 19 times throughout the course).
Would you please unlock the older resource for those of us who own the newer version, to enable us to complete those specific readings? Thanks!
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

This is not an issue of older versus newer edition, but the "The Bible Speaks Today" NT commentary series was licenced by two legally independent publishers: IVP UK and IVP US (i.e. not the same publisher).

Thanks for that info and correction! I can appreciate that FL probably couldn't sell the UK edition in the US, due to some licensing agreements, but they still need to work out some solution for this issue.
At present, anyone who doesn't own the UK edition can't complete the course. If FL doesn't unlock the other edition for us, we're left with a course that is missing 19 segments worth of reading!
Since FL is the publisher of the course, perhaps it should have published US and UK editions of the course, so those of us in the US can do the reading with the US publisher's version, and those in the UK can use the UK publisher's edition.
Surely it is reasonable to expect that when you buy a course, you should be able to take the entire course, and not be locked out of a part of it, due to some publisher restriction. The burden shouldn't be on the consumer, but on the producer of the course, to ensure that doesn't happen.

I happen to agree.

We will plan on updating the course to include links to both versions if we can't find a more elegant solution. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks for letting us know, Miles.
I hope FL can implement some automated QA script that would scan embedded links in courses under production to catch any instances of content which is not available for purchase.
It would save FL the time and inconvenience of having to roll out an update after the course shipped, and us having to wait for a solution.
Thanks again.

Did anything get resolved? The course doesn't appear to be updated (since September 2016), and it still references the UK edition (which is unavailable for me).
I only happened to recall this link issue, since PD101 might run into in a similar situation soon regarding different Vyrso/Logos LLS versions of the same book editions.

I fixed these reading links in the source files. The course should be updated soon. Thanks.

Thank you, Miles.
For me, Mobile Ed has been the hidden treasure in the Logos field. I'm grateful not only for the courses, but for everything you and others do to produce and update them.
