I'm sorry to hear this. But I would suggest raising issues of this nature by creating a separate thread in this forum so your concerns don't get lost in a thread of this type.

+1 [Y] Welcome [:D] plus concur with suggestion to create separate thread(s). Ideally each thread focuses on one topic.

First of all may I say how poorly Logos compares with Wordsearch. I find that my main gripe is that there does not appear to be the automatic link to Strong's when in Bible mode. This was one of my most used functions in Wordsearch, so I trust this will be resolved rapidly.

Thankful for Bible Word Study Panel Linking so clicking on a word in a Bible changes lexicon location to Greek headword (lemma) entry. Also Thankful for Information Tool having configuration choice to refresh on click OR hover (my preference is click). If the Bible has Strong's numbers, can see number in Information Tool and Right Click (has more context choices for lemma than Strong's)

A number of Greek lexicons for use in Logos & Verbum have Greek headword (lemma) indexing while lacking Strong's numbering of lemma's. For example, Traveler in Didache 12.2 translates παρόδιός that has a Greek headword entry in A Greek–English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, 3rd ed. (BDAG). Strong's numbering does not group related Greek words (nouns, verbs, ...), but Logos & Verbum have Greek root that can be searched to find related words: e.g. <Root = lbs/el/χαιρω>

    1. It is very difficult to find a book in the library. In Wordsearch they were arranged in categories which made searching much easier - can you not do the same?

Logos Wiki has Library page (many ways to filter/find books in library). Logos Help Center (LHC) has Videos and Tutorials

    L Rieder said:

Altogether I find it much less user friendly than Wordsearch and wonder why we have to change.

Logos & Verbum have a learning curve for effective use. Thankful for many friendly forum and Faithlife discussions: have learned a lot plus have a lot to learn. Likewise lack insight into reasons for migration from Wordsearch to Logos & Verbum.

    Keep Smiling [:)]

    Hi,

It looks like you’ve got it figured out pretty good. The most important is the CBL. The most important subset of that is the CBL Commentary. I think that it is important that the Commentary operates as one book- NOT as a multiple volume commentary. It is most valuable when used like Expositors (abridged) , or like the Bible Knowledge Commentary. The Word Study is very good, too. I used it as often as I used Little Kittle.

Next, I would say, “What the Bible Says.” A lot of Ah-ha moments with this one. “Try it you’ll like it” is apropos. Many times I was surprised that it out performed a ranked commentary on “ Best Commentaries.com.

Interpreters is good. Thompson Chain Reference is good.

I would like to see the individual books of commentary sets integrated to avoid the tedium of opening multiple books to of the same set during my study.

You don't need to open individual ones.

If you have one of a series open, entering a reference that relates to another book will automatically replace the current one with the one relating to that new passage

I would like to see a priority given to commentaries.  I like to read what other Pastors and  Bible teachers have to say about passages I will be using in sermons and lessons.

If you have one of a series open, entering a reference that relates to another book will automatically replace the current one with the one relating to that new passage

Graham, this may be a matter of Series metadata not yet being created for resources created automatically from WS EPUBs. This will be fixed as they're upgraded to Research Editions.

I would like all the Holman Books prioritized.

Is there any way you can combine all the Bible books into just one book within the commentaries? It's too time-consuming to search for a reference and a wast of "deskspace" when you have to load multiple  resources just to compare references to other books within the same commentary.

Also, organize the Lifeguide resources by the topics that WordSearch used.

I would like to see all of the Journey Series and Expository Pulpit Series and a better way to do searches. Tagging the books trying to do collections is tedious. is it a way that Logos could tag them automatically like WORDSearch and we can set up or collections easier.

I guess I'm a bit disappointed in the fact that many of the commentaries and books which are a part of the Silver (I assume that's what I was transitioned to from WordSearch, are free and open license. I also utilize E-sword and many of the resources listed are free. Just not sure yet if this was the bang for the buck. Plus, the learning curve on using Logos is a bit much. I've watched a few tutorials, and part of the problem is me...I'm 70, and still prefer paper books. I know that's a fault of mine, but I'm guessing there's a lot of guys just like me who want to use the technology, but the cost and the learning curve...well, that's a bit much. Thanks for asking. I did preview the Logos 9 video and just not convinced I need to go there.

I tried to vote, but when I go to sign in to faithlife, it says cannot log in "invalid password, or invalid email". So after trying a few times, i tried "forgot password", then it says "invalid email", which I know is incorrect, as I am signed in now in order to comment here. I will try signing in to google, or facebook, maybe that will work. Anyone else having this problem?
