I left Logos on the Home Page overnight and noticed this morning that my Devotional showed the wrong date. When I re-opened the Home Page it had been corrected. I didn't check the "Today in Christian..." card. But I noticed that "Today" was correct when checked a couple of Reading Plans in my layout (I'll have to check this tomorrow, because it could have been updated when I re-opened the Home Page).
Are you on Mac?

We created a number of new Timeline events to support the Today in Christian History data: i don't think they've all gotten shipped yet. This one does exist internally, so it should get shipped soon.
question: Yesterday I only got a headline. Today I got some more so I clicked on it and got a paragraph from one of the resources I own on the subject. What I expected was a brief paragraph on the topic of the day. What I think I got today was a link into my library. And yesterday, as I do not own the resource, I did not get a link.
I maybe wrong but using the first two samples that other than the headline I see nothing unless I own the correct resource on the subject.
Does that mean that If I only owned a basic [small] library I should only see just a headline on today's item? Or am I using the tool wrong?

If Verbum isn't supposed to get it I'm fine with that, too.
I have it in Verbum.

You don't get taken to the Factbook entry for the "headline"?

tried some more dates. 20 & 22 take me to Factbook 21 did not - most likely because this is still a work in process.
[And also now I know how to use the tool a bit better. [found out how to change date] Thanks for the encouragement!]

I have it in Verbum.
It's not limited by whether you are running Verbum or Logos. It's limited by whether you have purchased a Logos base packaged.

As JT mentioned, the dataset is heavily weighted toward Protestant (and in some cases, very recent Protestant) history.
And here I thought the criteria was events involving people and organizations of which MJ has never heard. But I was thinking of this problem last night. There is no practical way for Faithlife to cover enough of the theological/denominational streams to keep it both interesting and useful for everyone. I started imagining denominational add-ins that one could select as options. While owned and maintained by Faithlife, they would be created by users who self-identify with the denominational stream. In other words, Faithlife asks Catholics, Anglicans, Orthodox, Baptists, Wesleyians ... for events they consider worth offering. Faithlife creates the necessary entry for those that meet Faithlife criteria - and tags them by theological stream. User requests by theological stream and get events they find interesting/useful ...
Let me try to further your imagination.
Here are two Google sheets:
I've shared them so anybody with the link can edit them (please don't share outside Logos forums, since it exposes some of our data).
You can either
- Add events for one of these denominational groups (see the Meta tab for directions).
- Move existing "generic" events from the "Generic TICH" tab to the main tab, to indicate this event is also of interest to this denominational group.
We can do more denominational groups like this if there's interest, but i'd like to prove the concept out before creating a lot of these. Exact implementation and licensing details TBD: my primary goal here is to gauge if there's enough interest in the community to fill out the data, because it all starts there.

Which, technically, I haven't actually done. I have bought Logos 9 libraries, however.

I'm running Verbum 9.2 most recent update. I don't see an "Explore" category in the dropdown for adding cards to the dashboard. From this thread it sounds like I should expect to see that and then be able to pick the "Today in Christian History". But I'm not finding either.
I have a bigger problem though, possibly with the Version 9.2 udpate. The cards themselves are not functioning well. If I click any of the cards they may or may not open. They use to open with just a click. Also if I click on the three dots to remove the card the little "Remove Card" may or may not show up. And if it does and I click on it the card may more may not delete. Generally they won't delete. It took me a number of attempts to delete the card. I could usually select the card with the mouse, hold down the mouse and reposition the card. That seemed to always work. But opening the card or removing the card was hit and miss - usually miss. I'm running Verbum 9.2 on my Windows 10 Laptop and Windows 10 Desktop and having the same issue on both computers. My Windows 10 is fully updated.
If I need to send you a log file please let me know where I can find this.
Thanks for your help.
Oh and BTW, even though I'm Catholic I still would enjoy the "Today in Christian History" since I enjoy religious history of Christianity in general and not just Catholic religious history - so if the Today in Christian History is being made available in Verbum I very much appreciate that!

Would you start a new thread and prefix the title with BUG: The issue will get lost in this thread, and others have reported a similar experience.
I find sometimes that clicking on a Reading Plan Card in Verbum or Logos will activate it (I see the flashing red, circular "visual cue") but it doesn't switch to the layout to complete the action.
