Use the Logos Logo on top left as the home button

There is a waste of valuable toolbar real-estate by having a non-functional Logos Logo on top left of the program. Replace this with the home button (or if you really must have a copy again of your logo) then make this the home button.
We need as much space as we can on the top bar (e.g. for shortcuts)

@james-38, even with folders and improved overflow?

@james-38, it's not a copy on Mac or web.

@james-38, I did some explorations here: https://www.figma.com/file/2QMz9MKMIWChpRWc0i2qf7/Logos-Menu. Like any of those ideas?

@phil-gons OK didn't realise that - so you should make the logo the home page button - many websites use a click on their logo to go to the home page, so it should be intuitive for users.

@phil-gons Like the ideas (to make the Logo image functional).
However, that will not give any more space for shortcuts. I've placed an image/doc in the forums to show you what I mean. [https://community.logos.com/forums/t/195258.aspx]
    Thanks for taking a look.

@james-38 In fact, because folders are text only rather than icons they take up even more space!! - see image in https://community.logos.com/forums/t/195258.aspx

Can someone from Faithlife kindly merge these two suggestions and their corresponding votes? (https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-desktop-app/posts/remove-non-functional-logo-from-toolbar-to-save-space-for-smaller-screens). For some reason when I searched for existing suggestions this didn't come up. Thanks!

I would like a solution similar to the Microsoft quick access bar to be used for the shortcut bar ...

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

The Logos logo should either go to the Logos app's Home page as suggested here, or go to the Logos.com home page (and replace the new Store Cart button).

With the recent addition of multiple buttons to the tool bar (Factbook, Close All, Store Cart, Account), the tool bar is getting cluttered with unwanted buttons especially on smaller laptop screens.

I've also thought it would be nice if the search box resized when you clicked in it, so that it was much smaller until you clicked to start typing.

There is a suggestion in the forums that this be used as a shortcut to Faithlife Assistant. This is a use that makes sense to me.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Candidly, I like the look of the blue Logos logo in that corner of the screen. I think it should be used for something. Does seem like it's begging to be pressed. But I don't think it needs to replace the home button. EDIT - MJ. Smith's suggestion is pretty good. Could also be a link to the Faithlife app or these forums, or something.

This seems like such a no-brainer I am amazed it hasn't happened yet. Make that giant blue icon taking all that space actually do something useful!

In Logos 10 (https://www.logos.com/10), we've merged this with the Command/Go box, so I'm going to mark this as done.

That's only for the vertical toolbar. This suggestion was actually for the horizontal toolbar, where it still redundantly exist. To me, it's a very odd corner: the Logos logo at the top, the second Logos logo right below it, and then the home button.
I now see, that the lower Logos logo upon clicking now activates the Go-box. But isn't that very random? Nobody would ever want to click the Logos Logo in order to activate the Go-box.
However, people may click the Logos logo in order to go to the Home page.

My suggestion would still be to either 1) remove the lower Logos logo entirely, or 2) make it the home button and remove the home icon.

@Phil Gons (Faithlife)  Can you implement this change for the horizontal toolbar as well?

It remains in place with Top/Left toolbar, but acts as a link to the Command Box when it is on Top. The icon size is also consistent with the other toolbar icons.
