This is an interesting concept. I think I would be hard-pressed, personally, to find cross-references that were not already easily accessible in the software.0

This seems very similar to a note: it's attached to a passage, and it's clickable (when displayed as a visual filter). Unlike third-party cross-references, a note lets you record your own information about what the cross-reference captures. For the biblical references you attach to the note as anchors, it will show up in the Passage Guide under Your Content.
Are there other things you'd want this to accomplish?0 -

This is a great idea. Why?
1) THE Best commentary on the Bible is the Bible.
2) The ease of access would save a lot of time over using a note or another workaround.
3) The programming is mostly done with the current cross references.
What would it look like... not sure, but perhaps it would use the current cross reference labeling with an extension. It could use a colored number or letter the color denoting that it was a personal cross reference. It could use a 1000 or 10000 series like 1001 or 10001 and build from there or a double place series aa or zz.
How would it function? Just like current cross references. Hover and a tempt popup show the cr. Click on the cr reference and the popup stays while you hover over the verse refs in the cr and they popup for reading.
Ideas: I like this better than notes in that it is quicker to access. The notes could be improved by adding the cross references hold with a single click and open with a double click as well as allowing temp popups of verses when you rollover them in the held notes.
Great opportunities here to enhance the product!0 -
Being able to create your own personal cross references is a very important aspect of Bible study. When you've been reading the Bible for 50 years as I have, you see all kinds of connections that you want to record. It was fast and easy in BibleWorks. You do a search and mark the results that you want to save as cross references. Now every one of those verses will point you to all the other verses, showing the full text in a list. Each verse has a reminder that there are other verses with the same theme. For example, I just did a search on "fire AND heaven" to find references to fire coming down from heaven (such as at Sodom, the dedication of the temple, David's sacrifice in 1 Chronicles 21, and the Day of Pentecost). The verses that I would retain and cross reference are Ge 19:24; 2 Ki 1:10 , 12 , 14; 1 Ch 21:26; 2 Ch 7:1; Job 1:16; Lk 9:54; 17:29; Ac 2:2–3; Re 13:13; 20:9. I could anchor each reference in a note, but that takes a lot of work even using Keyboard Maestro . I have piles of my own cross references. Sure , I can put them in passage lists , but they are not anchored to each other in any user friendly way. Logos is fantastic software that I love more and more. A few tweaks and it will be 10 out of 10. I hope to see this in Logos 10.0
