This *almost* already works with Apple's recent introduction of support Scribble (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208459). (I think that's what the new feature is called, but regardless it lets you use the Apple pencil just about anywhere.)
In my short test, entering text worked fine. Deletions and one or two other navigation things not so much.0 -
We fully Scribble (As referenced in a previous comment. Simply tap an input box to make a cursor appear, then start writing with your Apple Pencil.0

I think this would be a great addition to the Logos Bible App. Would be really nice to take hand-written sermon noted on the iPad0

I too want to see this. I love using my pencil to make handwritten notes. I want the ability to write my notes in and leave them as hand written notes. The scribble feature through Apple does not work well for me. I would prefer to simply hand write my notes and see them attached to the text I want.0

Imagine a lay christian, scholar or even preacher listening, willing to take notes during a church or teaching but naturally has there iPad instead of their computer. something like https://www.churchnotesapp.com/features/sermons but with Apple Pencil support.
I have recommended to several people though the years but the lack of pencil support is a disadvantage. Even if copying the apple notes features seems like an option.1
