I don't like the default voice in Logos for reading text. Can I change Logos default voice to a Windows voice? If so, how?
To change the default voice in Logos, go to Windows control panel - Ease of Access - Speech Recognition. Then select Text to Speech to the left. In the Speech Properties popup, you can select the voice from the Voice selection dropdown.
However, I don't expect you'll find the other options on Windows to be much of an improvement. Mobile voices currently tend to be far superior. I would thus suggest giving mobile a try instead.
Aaron, Yes, after I went back are reread your message I understood what you were talking about. The reason I asked is that some of Window's voices are easier to understand than others (for me anyway). I got it changed to one that is easier for me to understand, and I'm good to go. Thanks.
This screen has been removed from control panel in Win 11. The new Windows natural voices are still better than the mobile voices, however, they're not available for selection to use with Logos.

The directions I gave allow you to change voices from the control panel. However, they do not allow one to select a natural voice.
It's only a workaround, and requires a lot of steps for a simple thing like changing between resources in different languages.
As Jan said, in the newer versions of Windows 11 that control panel option is not there anymore. So you have to use the workaround to start sapi.cpl manually. In the post below I wrote about a way to use the Natural voices by installing another piece of software (should work in all versions of Windows 11 and possibly below that):
Apologies @Bernhard and @Jan Krohn. I didn't realize I wasn't running the latest version of Windows 11 on this computer. Looks like this option was just removed from the control panel. Thanks for all of the helpful information.
Are the Mobile voices those voice that come with certain elements of Logos, i.e. ESV bible? I do use those if available, but there are certain things, such as devotionals, that default to whatever the current Windows voice is. Or are the Mobile voices you're referring to something else?
Apologies for being unclear. It is true that a very limited number of resources (including the ESV as you mentioned) have a dedicated reading voice. Unfortunately, that voice only works for that single resource. When I referred to "mobile voices", I was referring to the default reading voices on mobile devices. Usually, the default reading voice on a modern mobile phone or tablet will be superior to the default voice that is available for use in Logos on Windows.
Windows has developed better voices, but unfortunately they are not yet able to be used in Logos. If this is important to you, it sounds like @Bernhard may have found a workaround to enable this functionality. Personally, I just pull out my phone when I want to listen to a resource.
I'm a graduate student. I can't submit an assignment stating that a word appears 25 times, using different words in different passages without citing where I got that information from. Yes, I got it from a Logos Bible Word Study but…big ol' shrug. For that matter, how do I cite anything that I get from the "internal" Logos…
The ESV is my preferred bible, so I enter all of my highlights and labels in that translation. I am reading through the NASB95 translation for my 2025 reading plan, so I have it and the ESV side-by-side, joined with a link set. In the screenshot below I entered a single label in the ESV for verses 11 and 12. The NASB95…
"Add to Wishlist." Where did this option go from the book page of the Logos.com store? Is this a bug or is something else going on?
I’m reading a book and highlighted something in the book and created a note regarding the highlight. Now I want to add another anchor to the same note from a different passage in the book. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to do it on mobile. I can select the text but I can’t figure out how to send that reference…
Hi everyone, The Title is confusing, so let me explain. I've recently created a Notebook named "Gods goal" to pull all my prior Notes on Gods goal. This is because I want to do a more through study on this Topic. These Notes I've made in the past on God's goal can be identified easily because, within the Note, I use Tags…
