Missing/dead links interim improvement

On a frequent basis there is a forum thread on the issue of links resulting in a debate on links to different editions of the work. I suggest the following to minimize this reoccurring debate.

  1. Exclude milestone references and bibliographic references.
  2. If the user owns the edition referred to in the link, links as usual.
  3. If the user owns no edition of the resource referred to in the link, the link continues to do nothing.
  4. If the user owns a different edition of the resource (a) based on a global setting in program settings (b) opens the highest priority edition owned by the user to the title page and displayed a message giving the original reference - resource and page

Yes, I am aware the library does not yet carry the appropriate information for recognizing all editions of the same work especially if hidden in an anthology.
