This is the ultimate compilation of his previous books such as Pentateuch (also suggested) and the result of his writing the biblical narrative book also suggested. Logos would be remiss in not including this resource as it is the bestest English translation of the Hebrew Bible ever. I have been waiting for it to come out since the book was released in Kindle. Pls at least put it up as prepub so we can share it with lots of others. Thank you!
Would be nice to add to my Logos. I have the audio and print copy. Sure would be easier to carry in logos….
Any update here? I'd like to have this in my library as well.
Excellent translation of the Hebrew Bible.
This request is for the same product as this one, which already has 72 votes on it.
I would CERTAINLY buy it! The man knows how to write English! His comments on Hebrew writing style are priceless. As a contemporary "author" he appreciates the talent of ancient practitioners of his trade.
I'd like to see Robert Alter's 'The Hebrew Bible' made available in Logos.
His 'The Art of Biblical Narrative' and 'The Art of Biblical Poetry' are already available in Logos, with 'The Art of Biblical Translation' on almost funded for production.
Alter's translation of the 'The Hebrew Bible' and it's incredible commentary would a very valuable resource.
One book title per request, please.
Do you have additional comments for the Logos team? Add those here.
It has been requested multiple times. Hopefully, Logos will merge the requests.
Or rather, hopefully Logos will sense the book's popularity and get going with it!
Vote added to main thread.
Some books are difficult to get the rights to; don't assume Logos hasn't tried.
Don't make assumptions about what I'm assuming 😬
That's a good resource to request, thought it's got 83 votes on another post.
Rick, please merge with
The Hebrew Bible: A Translation with Commentary by Robert Alter — Logos Community
and other requests for this book.
I would like to request that when Alter's translation/commentary hits Logos, PLEASE produce the notes as a separate resource, so that it's linkable/scrollable. Nothing worse than having to click endless superscript notes and read them in a smaller pop-up window.
I note that Robert Alter's books are marked as "planned." Any chance we'll get his translation and commentary before January? My Church is starting on a year-long OT study, and it would be awfully nice to be able to recommend it.
That would be good, but the fallback is that you can use the Power Lookup tool to extract hyperlink content from the active resource window into a scrollable list.

For centuries, Christians of all ages have turned to John Calvin’s A Little Book on the Christian Life to help them on their journey as they follow Christ. I found this book helpful, enjoyable, during my study on early chruch history.
