Has this feature gone away, I have updated my Devotionals and other layout plans and it appears it keeps reverting back to Dec. 245th's readings is this another example of the grinch who stole Christmas but the glitch who stole logos features?

I don't understand the question. When I have opened a layout, and then when I'm done, and I then hit the Layout button again, I see this, which shows the "Update active" button:
If you see something different, could you post a screenshot? And are you using the web version, the Mac version, the Windows version …?
