In the Notes tool, I like to set different icons and colors for different kinds of notes. I have two suggestions:

Allow a Notebook to also have an Icon.
When a Note is added to a Notebook, the Note would inherit the Icon from the parent Notebook. Ideally, if a Note is moved from one Notebook to another, the Note's icon would be changed as a part of the move.

I realize that this is a picky thing. It would just be a nice to have for my workflow.

Yeah, I think this may very well be a bug.

It certainly is possible to set an icon and color for a notebook. HOWEVER, in practice, when you make a new note, the new note inherits the most recently used settings instead of the notebook settings, rendering the notebook settings virtually useless.

@Stephen Otto. I guess I'm missing something. I don't see anywhere to set an icon on a notebook.

There's a trick to it - select your notebook, causes all the notes in that notebook to appear to the right. Then select all of the notes in that notebook - a panel appears to the right that allows you to create notebook-wide settings.
