Will having logos 4 or five affect the app at all. Basically i want to know if the app follows suits with the program , logos 5, because I mostly use logos on my devices now and if the app is free and universal for all logos programs it ALMOST nullifies the point to upgrade from 4 to 5 ... For me at least. But I love logos and ill about supporting the company, I just wanted someone to clarify this if they could.

Hi Nathan
The current app works fine against both L4 and L5

I've been successfully running the Logos Bible Software app on a 2nd gen iPod touch device until that last couple of weeks when I updated by app. Where can I get the previous versions of the app? I've deleted the app off my computer and iPod because the app was crashing (repeatedly "error loading book" popup) and now I can't seem to find the older version on my computer or the web.

Correction: "when I updated my app." I can't edit my post.

To clarify: When I try to edit it, I get this:
Sorry, there was a problem with your last request!
Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred. We apologize and have logged the error. Please try your request again or if you know who your site administrator is let them know too.

And no, I'm not going out and buying another Apple device: http://app.tech.pentontech.com/e/er?s=1481&lid=34913&elq=3265481022fa4c01a2244286e4d578b0

Where can I get the previous versions of the app?
That's a difficult question. The way that iOS apps are supposed to work, is that you download (and update) them from the App Store. It is possible that you have an older version of the app on one of your computers… if you haven't updated it in iTunes...
I believe the "error loading book" issue issue was fixed in a later build. Do you know which version you deleted? Depending upon when you deleted it, the App Store may have a more up-to-date version. I do know that there is a version in beta which will soon be submitted to Apple (if it hasn't been already).
Can you use the Vyrso app? Did you try reinstalling the app, or did you just delete it?

Thanks, alabama. I'm finding the older apps in previous versions of the "Mobile Applications" directory in the iTunes directory. I won't go into technical detail on how to replace a newer app with an older one using this method unless someone wants to know. It's too bad Logos is no longer supporting 2nd gen devices.

This is similiar to my problem.
iPod 2nd Gen, iOS 4.2.1, can't upgrade to iOS 4.3, deleted Logos, now can't install new version.

Hi Ron! Welcome to the forums! Sorry you are having troubles. [:S]
The new version isn't compatible with your device. Do you have a backup in iTunes of your old app?

Unfortunately, I don't have the backup. I've had problems with iTunes sync and my iTunes is all messed up.

How can I delete those books if they are irrelevant to me?

How can I delete those books if they are irrelevant to me?
First, welcome to the forums! [:)]
I don't know if I understand your question… but I'll try my best. Since you didn't provide any context, I assume you are referring to the free books that come with the app? If you are asking how to "delete" them from your storage space on your iOS device… no worries. Except for the bible, they aren't downloaded to your device unless you asked it to. If you have downloaded a resource by accident, you can click on the "circle 'i'" icon and press "remove" while in reading view. This icon also appears in the library to the right of each resource in the list.
If your concern is how to remove the item from the library list altogether… that is a bit more tricky. The simple answer is "you can't." First, there isn't a mechanism to "hide" resources from within the mobile app itself. If you are a desktop user of L4/L5, you could try the "hidden resources" feature… but it is possible that some of the resources visible you don't actually own licenses to… which means you won't have a way to "hide" them. Even if you do have the license and hide the resource, I am unsure if the free resources would be hidden on the mobile app. ("Hidden" resources DO sync… my doubt is just over the "free" resources… I am wondering if the "free" version would pop back up if you hid your paid copy).
Did that answer your question?
