Organizing Clippings and Notes

Hello, Logos users. As will become painfully obvious in this and future posts, I am new to Logos. Please bear with me.

I've been using clippings and notes for my studies, but I'm used to organizing things in files and folders. How does one organize clippings an notes? I noticed that they all end up under the file menu, but after about 50 or 100 of them, will they all be there in one long list, or is there some way I can organize them by topic or scripture reference so that I can easily and logically locate them later?

Hi Tom - and welcome to the forums. Please feel free to post questions and we will try and help.

I would suggest you look at the use of Favorites - information about this can be found at http://wiki.logos.com/Favorites.

This allows you to create folders - with nested folders - into which you can then organise things such as Notes and Clippings.

Here is a suggestion that I previously posted on the forum http://community.logos.com/forums/p/34696/262014.aspx#262014

The use of favorites is a key help in organizing your notes and clippings. The A-Z folders help to create a "file cabinet" and the books of the Bible help me to sort my research notes and clippings into their proper books of the Bible. You can even drag a book into the folders and it will reopen to the place you were at when you dragged it there. Another nice feature is that you can also drag the same note into multiple positions in your "file cabinet".

You can have sub-folders under the Alphabetical Folders...even sub-folders of sub-folders (I haven't found the limit yet if there is one).
